Description
Tales of Moonsea is a role play focused PW set in Forgotten Realms city of Phlan. Out of all the servers that I've tried, I keep on coming back to this one. No other server has the same depth, level of immersion and quality roleplaying. If you're after low levels, low magic and hardcore roleplay, then this server is for you.

An amazingly well build world, with a great feel to it.
I think most the poor reviews were from a long time ago so its fair to say a lot of content has been added. The only down side and not one of the world is the size of the world means finding other players can be a little difficult. But thats cause they arwe often off doing things which speaks wonders of the game world.

This is one of the worst servers I've ever played on. I am SHOCKED it got a Hall of Fame... it's got some great RPers, but on the other hand it is crudely built, and very buggy. The DMs exploit their power, picking favourites out of the players and showering them with power and gifts. And of course, should the DMs choose to play a character, they have the finest equipment and most powerful position possible. STAY AWAY! Stay far away!

Very nicely put together PW. Great areas, involved storyline, custom quests and a wonderful RP focused group of folks. If you want to immerse yourself in your character, this is the spot.

The aesthetic of the server is simply amazing. Areas made with a keen eye for detail and atmosphere. The server itself is young, but already has a dedicated player base and DM team.

Not a bad world. Some nicely made areas, with a unique introduction to the game world. Didn't like that the mod itself was fairly small.

I love this server and have been playing on it since it opened for players a year back soon.
The areas in the server is just pure awsome with their high level of details and the feeling of it. This is defenetly a server worth playing on if you wish to enjoy some good rollplaying in a setting with high amount of details, interesting plots and uniqe characters and players.
I have not been able to break away since I first joined in and that is something for me who back in NWN1 jumped back and forth between servers when they lost interest to me.
Helpful DMs, beautiful scenery, good roleplaying, a chance to run your own plots, varied quests and equipment; all in all a great server for NWN2. _________________________ Lord Jierdan Firkraag The Dragon's Lair, my D&D resource

The server sucks, some of the players don't. The DMs don't do a damned thing other than slack off, and most of them aren't even DMs, they're just builders. They claim to be an RP server, but all they focus on is scripted quests. Leveling is boring there, as all you do is constantly grind the same quest day after day until you can't do it anymore, since you can't get XP from fighting monsters. By the time you're powerful enough to fight anything and survive, the hard lvl cap in the area prevents you from gaining ANY xp from creatures.
The world is tiny at best, so there's no exploration.
They claim to be against so much stuff, and want a realistic setting, but it's anything but that.
If you like high death penalties, repetitive grinding in areas that will get you killed without high level chars who get 0 xp from the encounters, and repeating the same scripted quests over and over again until you're level six... And then have absolutely nothing to do, since the DMs wont allow you to go with your plots, then this might be the server for you.

I am giving this server the rating above because of the many bugs I found within an hours worth of play. Many of the 'newbie' quests could not be completed even though all the requirements were met. My first character here got stuck inside a chair due to what appears to be a walkmesh cutting issue.
The reason it did get this high of vote and not lower is because the city itself and general idea are well thought out. The city of Phlan is done well, with good use of placables a little claustrophobic at times but it does look good.
The Quest system also leaves a bit to be desired on a RP server as it gives OOC information in the dialogue about character level and party numbers. I believe this could be overcome by dialogue instead and thus maintain a RP environment.

The Arabel server for NWN1 was great and im expecting an equally great world from this one, good luck with it, I'll be checking it out very soon.
It would seem that there are a number of problems with the PW...not yet rife. I would call this still in Beta.
Therefore, I will refrain from giving a score until it is ready.

Simply the best in its category of low-magic, hardcore RP, PW. It may be in beta, with a few bugs to be worked out, but when thats done.. pure gaming heaven!

Among hard-core role playing servers, you simply will not find anything better. That said, this IS a hard-core role playing server, which may be extremely difficult for someone not use to this kind of server to get hooked on. Rather like those who don't understand fine art probably don't enjoy the opera, but for those who do-you will recognize greatness when you see it. It is here, and this is a server still in beta running-so once all the last bugs are out it'll be even better.

A great pw that is only made even better by the quality role players that inhabit it. Player numbers can be a little low during some time zones, but during beta has fluctuated between 5-15 players.

Trash. Spent 2 hours fed-exing for half a level and 100 gold. Got a bit damanged fighting some rats barehanded, so I had to go to an inn and pay 1/4 of my gold to rest, upon which I gained 1 hitpoint back.
