If you can believe it, trying to produce a decent barbarian is what eventually led to the Blender IO tools... Anyway, here he is. The mesh, vertex weighting and normal map and texture were all made in Blender. This is kind of work in progress, but I wanted to encourage people. I have included the .blend file in the .zip so that people can explore it.

I've given this a ten, because it, and the other Jester stuff, has made me experiment with Blender to produce my own stuff and mods of this model. I've also used the normal map of the barbarian in similar ways.
Really surprised as old as this game is we've yet to see a PG version of overriding NK textures to display properly tinted, bare feet, bare hands, with non-descript under garments for ALL playable races.
No 2DA editing; no wearable UTIs to accomplish the "effect" of being clothless.
The ridiculous, full body, Obsidian pajama-suits we get out of the box is a freaking joke.
And all the barbarian, shirtless-dude HAKs would've been way easier to accomplish had something like the described above existed.
MotB was a huge step backward with the lazy planetouched texturing and cinched Warlock outfits...

Hey Jester! I switched to zylch000 as per your suggestion and the improvement was remarkable. It's still a little different from whatever Obsidian officially used, but it's a vast improvement. The awful seam is gone. Thanks for the help. I've been trying to fix this problem for months! May the god of naked barbarians bestow a thousand blessings upon you ;)
OK - this project is on hold for a bit - I've got medieval war pick and fat cook to get done first. Somebody else could pick it up though - the .blend file is in the archive, it's got everything in.

Wow, Just looking at that makes me blush. Good work! _________________________ AKA: GuardianofLore.
I'm horribly familiar with the 3DS problem.. if you're using tazpn's exporter then trying changing the tangent space option (I think) from Obsidian to Zylch000. It's all about how you smooth the tangents at UV boundries. Zylch000's method seems to work best - it's the one I implemented in the BlenderIO.
Re genitals - you could just use Necrolords ones - I really don't think NWN2 needs two sets of male genital models...
Anyway - it's more a question of shall I continue and finish him, or work on something else.

Wow! This is great! I can't wait to try out modeling in blender.
I've had a serious problem with 3ds max where simply importing and exporting a model with 3ds max creates a horrible seam--especially on heads--even when nothing is altered on the model or texture. Ever see a problem like that? The only thing that bothers me about this model is the lack of genitals. If you're going to have naked barbarians running around, at least let them have some masculine pride ;)
Wow, these textures looks absolutely wonderful. I think his body somehow reflects mine ;). I'd love to have this as an override over the default nudity. Will have a closer look in-game!
