This is a 2da modification that brings elven height in NWN 2 in line with FR standards ( so elves/half-elves are now as tall as humans and drow as tall as elves were before), and also renders the duergar thinner than standard dwarves, as they should be. Simply extract this file into your override. Please let me know if it does not work.
You know I was just browsing and I noticed all the I'm Right and you're wrong comments. Wouldn't it be easier to simply site your source and provide a page number?
A strange thing happens when I try to use this hackpack, all the creatures (NPCs, monsters, my character) doesn't have a body or portrait anymore. Any idea of what is causing this? _________________________ "Wisdom is only possessed by the learned"
Making elves the same height as humans by default accomodates the fact that some are above or below average. That's what the height slider is for.
I'm not sure if their the same height in the Player's Guide to Faerun, all elves but drow use the same height roll as a Damaran Human, which is the same as a human in the Player's handbook.
In the original FR handbook, we're instructed, similarly, to use the human height table when rolling height.
They all start with 4'10" (4'5" for females) and then add 2d10
and no i'm not wrong , i have the source books , sun elves are avariel are eitehr a little bleow or alittle over human heigt moon and wood elves are alittle below human heights and drow are standard PH heights witht eh exceptionthat the felames are taller than the males, nwn2 has all teh ehights pretty right ,especially after addignthe ehight aduster to cahracter creation. thirdly you also forget about individual height diferences , in pnp and the novels ther are even some drow knowto be exceptionally tall for drow as well as some evles that are oddly shorter than others, again elves are not exactly as tall as humans only sun elves and avariel are as tall or taller (avariel being the tallest elves).
Argoyne, yes you are correct. I will add an average FR elf/human/half elf is 1.75m (i.e. 5ft9), and drow (female) around 1.63 m (5ft2) IIRC. It's best to avoid metric in D&D, as the sourcebooks are all in Imperial measures.
Demonhorde, you're wrong but you've been told so already it seems. Just check the FRCS book to see. You're right on the Drow though, but I'm not sure which sourcebook contains that info. The FRCS is silent on Drow gender differences. The one thing I haven't done in this mod is edited non-drow elven females to be a tad shorter than males, as the FR suggests, but I do not know how to do it.
Argoyne, thanks for the info. I have had no problems with the modifications, so I don't think it causes any errors.
I definitely had too much caffine today. I'll leave my submition (see if it even passes given the half dozen edits I've given it since submitting) Given mine covers all the races folks might not like it so much when their halfling is around about 20cm (8in) smaller than default. Should it end up on the vault you can compare and if you want I'll kill it, I'll leave you in peace now
Sorry for double posting, but the error with the column isn't that theres one missing its that there is an extra one its caused by a bug in the toolsets 2da editor that inserts a number of spaces in front of the row number. I've reported the bug to Grinning Fool but if others are experiencing it as well perhaps you should report it as well so they know its not just me.
Actually surface elves have the same height as humans from the Damaran and Tethyrian subraces their maximum height is around 2 metres. The heights if all are taken at their max should be this I think, providing I can read and count which as I got it wrong the first time I tried this could very well indicate otherwise
2.1m - Half-Orc
2m - Humans, Elves, Half-Elves
1.66m - Drow
1.5m - Shield Dwarves
1.36m - Gold and Grey Dwarves
1.12m - Rock Gnomes
1.08m - Deep Gnomes
1.01m - Halflings
I had submitted my version of the 2da it hasn't been approved yet so I edited the comment and asked for them to dump it
elven heights are already up to to Fr standard silly , in fr ntoe elves are ALMOST as tall as humans not exactly as tall and the drow were already tall as dnd standard with females being biger than males nice effort gbut still pointless one :P
In the new version you uploaded is a complete column missing in the 2DA file. _________________________ Ever wanted a hotbar for party commands, or a separated Bard bar, or ... ? xUI - Major NWN2 UI Enhancement
Normally it is stored in the override folder within your "My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2" folder. If this is not the case check the override folder within your "Neverwinter Nights 2" game folder.
As long as you cant replace the uploaded file with the correct one, you should remove the wrong file from the Vault! People are still downloading this.
Before uploading something, one is always good advised to make sure that it really is what it should be. :) _________________________ Ever wanted a hotbar for party commands, or a separated Bard bar, or ... ? xUI - Major NWN2 UI Enhancement
Strange. I modified the file using the NWN toolset editor. I could upload the file if I knew were the modification were stored. Supposedly the editor stores these in the override file, but not in my case. If someone could e-mail me regarding this I would be happy to locate the right file and put it up. It certainly works for me though - my elven character is now taller than almost every NPC.
The 2DA in your download is exact the same as the original NWN2 one. _________________________ Ever wanted a hotbar for party commands, or a separated Bard bar, or ... ? xUI - Major NWN2 UI Enhancement
