If you find that caves in NWN are awfully flat.
No chasm, no underground river.
This is for you !
So i made three placeables "roof caves" to design interiors caves with outdoors maps.
To Use it, first, map your area using exterior map. Design the wall of your cave with the terrain tool.
After that take one of the three placeables scale it to fit your area. Adjust height to the top of your "walls".
-----------------------------------
Convert this placeable to environment object.
------------------------------------
Adjust light of your area ( no day/night cylce), color etc etc.
That all. You got a nice cave now.
NB : Exteriors areas are much much larger (Mo Vs Ko ) than interior areas. So use it in small mod or just in some areas.
-----------------------------------
BIG UPDATE !!!!!!!
Tiles are more easily usables, flatten edge.
And provide 9 textures for each placeables.
Use toitv2.hak file
Note about this hak file.
This hack file include a placeable.2da with the new models. So if you want use this hack with another one who use the "placeable.2da" file you must merge the files.
Looks awesome.
Unfortunately i can t seem to make it work with MOTB. Any suggestions how to get the toolset accept the placeables for what they are and not create bearcolumns out of it?

Well crap. the hak file seems to be corrupt? i cannot open it in a hak file editor at all says invalid file type. it works in the editor no problem. i can make the roof placables and such but when i associate the hak file wiht my module it locks my module up completely on loadup i finally narrowed it down to this single hak file and after i lost so much work. >:| Im guessing since htis is an old file it mst be a bug with a newer patch thats causing it? i dont really know has anyone else had this problem? and how come i cant open it up with a hak editor? Id prefer to include the files into my own hak file instead of using multiple haks ya know. well crap again . i need these placeables

The more I look at this the more I like it. This is the exact sort of thing I like about the exterior editor, it allows for much more imagination.
Justin to elaborate on my last post, I do have the hak file in C: override. I also tried it in the my documents override and in both at the same time...I have other haks installed but I don't think they are 2da placeables. They are TCC, and the ones that modify the character models with better heads and clothing models and all that....
Hi, I can't get it to work for me. I keep getting the message when I go to add the hak that it can't be found. I successfully imported the erf but the placeables don't do anything. Any suggestions for me? thanks Justin
8.5 Very useful, could not have recreated some of my old NWNUO areas without it, but the roof had a tendency to collapse, dropping to ellevation 0 after a bake no matter whether I locked the height or not. I got around this by baking THEN adding the roof.

A bit more documentation would be helpful.

Suggestion: Would it be possible to have no texture on the upper side, so that it doesnt block the mini map?
Or is there a way to prevent that?

This is genuinely groundbreaking stuff. Highly recommended. Fantastic idea. Excellently implemented.

I am still trying to get it to work for me, but take in mind I am not very good at any of this. I am working on the mod. Raider's of Galath's Roost, and I have a map with a steam underground. So this is priceless once I get it to work. Thank you _________________________ Squeeky wheel gets the kick

brainfrost, go to the module properties and add 'toitv2.hak' to the 'Hak Packs' tag under 'Misc' category.

very cool idea.
Any idea why it isn't working for me? I'm running 1.05. have cleared out everything in the override and hak folders (both sets)except for "toitv2.hak" which is in "my docs/nwn2/hak/". I have imported "toitv2.ERF" into my module (the file lives on my desktop if that matters). The list of cave roofs appear in my placeables list but when i select one nothing appears at the crosshairs for placement. Did i miss something?

Since I'm using this hak in my contest module, I'd better rate it high :)
Really, this is a most useful set of placeables that is easy to use.
Any chance of providing a 'zipped' package, please?

"Excellent, Recommended to Anyone!"
Now I know NOTHING about texturing and creating custum placeables, but it would be awsome if you could somehow only apply the texture to the roof placeables on the side facing the ground so they would be "invisble" from above. Like the "Ore {Caves}" placeable is only visible from the front.
Just my 2 cents, keep up the good work!

Très bon, si je pouvais revoter, je le ferai, tu devrais peut être ouvrir un topic sur les fofos officiels pour tenir au courant, tu toucheras plus de gens

Big update
Provide 9 textures for the three roof types.
The edge of the tiles are now soften for easier use.

Fantastic work! I just have one question, is there a way to make the "ceiling" disappear when zooming out like the ceilings of the interior tiles sets?
