Name  Chimneyfish's Armor
Author  Chimneyfish
Submitted / Updated  03-17-2007 / 04-18-2007
Category  Armor
Patch  1.04
Description
*** Updated with Pack 3, which adds another hide armor, plus several sets of clothing.

** Pack 2 adds 3 more sets of armor (leather, scale mail, and another chain outfit).

I've retextured some of Aleanne's clothes and the Shirtless Saga's armors to create some new armor/clothing, with both male and female versions.

I'm getting more comfortable with retexturing, so most of the Pack 3 female outfits were made directly from Zylch's female nude base, rather than editing Aleanne's designs. Note, however, that male cloth 70 (cloth breeches) is simply a renamed version of the Shirtless Saga's cloth 150, so I deserve no credit for that one.

The armors will not work for dwarves, gnomes, or half-orcs, but should be available for the other playable races.

To use, extract the files to your my documents/neverwinter nights 2/override directory. The UTI file contains a few samples that you can give yourself ingame (giveitem - the codes are CH67, CH68, CH69, CH70, CH71, CH72, CH73, CL70, CL71, CL72, CP69, HD69, HD70, LE69, NK69, SC69, and PF69). Or you can create your own items using the toolset.

Excellent work as always Chim, I'm surprised I haven't seen these earlier. The all look tastful, and I can see them being worn in any type of module, or PW. Keep up the great work!

This set is worth a look, even if they are just besic reskins. I hope that you continue to do more items.

I give you a 8.00
First of all to encourage your good work, and second as i'm too a modeler / reskinner i know how much work you need to do for your creation.

Keep up the good work !

WHen is someone going to do a Chain Hauberk? I thought this was NWN2 not City of Heroes/Villians?

The other thing that kept my score low is that this is not all original work but a rework of others mods that in my opinion didn't improve upon the originals. (still reworking others stuff is how i got started with my own Oblivion attempts)

Using the voting standards I have to give this a 4. Actually getting the toolset and taking the time to try your skills shows merit. Where the mod needs improvement in my opinion is the color schemes (not just the tintables) and the actual design. Particularly the armor in pack 2. Please keep up the work as practice improves your skills! Also please don't take my rating as an insult. I am also a NWN1 & Oblivion player and have seen much worse and lots better. I think a lot of people are giving a lot of the mods for NWN2 higher scores than they actually deserve simply because there are few that are truly remarkable so far. Once most of the better designers have beat the toolset's learning curve, I expect to see really great stuff in a year or so that truly deserves an 8 or better.

Ah, alright then, thx :)

Posted by Ransom at 2007-03-21 14:57:54
Yes, they are tintable. I used red and yellow in the screenshots to highlight which parts are tintable. A bit gaudy in the examples, but I wanted to make the different tintable sections clear.

Are the armor tintable?

Because you know, red and yellow aren't the only colors in the color spectrum.

Ill reserve my rating for later.

I am planning on doing some clothing (male outfits that parallel Aleanne's). I haven't tried messing with headgear at all yet ...

Posted by glenn3e at 2007-03-21 05:22:16    Voted 8.00 on 03/18/07
Nice, more armor. Always good to have more of them. Keep it up. Maybe some "unarmored" types too.

Furthermore, if you could make some Headgear, it would be terrific. Some things like hats, bandanas, caps etc....

We neeed some mods for headgear...

I like these armor options a lot. I have used the toolset to make some mithril chain shirts using these designs and imported them into my OC game

Posted by Dr_Sascha at 2007-03-19 10:37:50    Voted 6.00 on 03/19/07
It's more the design and not the retexturing

Posted by Ransom at 2007-03-19 07:55:20
Dr. Sascha - which ones? I'm still improving my graphics skills, so it's possible they could be improved.

Some of the armors look a bit odd.

Posted by glenn3e at 2007-03-18 07:43:43    Voted 8.00 on 03/18/07
Pretty good, I guess. Gave it an 8. I especially like the shiny chainmail.

Thanks for the quick update. Going to try it now. Perhaps edit your text a little to explain to people what the giveitem codes are for those armor.

Posted by Ransom at 2007-03-18 01:19:39
Yes, I can create some uti files. I'll have to create some first, of course.

Posted by glenn3e at 2007-03-17 23:28:50    Voted 8.00 on 03/18/07
Can you provide the files that lets you "giveitem" those armor into the mod? I think those were UTI files....
