NWN2 includes in its game data the voicesets from the original NWN companions but not those from SoU or HotU. I have extracted all of the full voicesets from the two expansions and modified the NWN2 soundset.2da to enable access to them, as well as to the full voicesets from NWN's OC and, of course, from NWN2. A few are from NPCs and not companions, but they are full nonetheless.
Note that by "full" I mean complete voicesets (as opposed to partial ones). I do not mean that all voicesets are made available.
*Interestingly enough, these two appear to be partial voicesets because of incomplete .ssfs, but actually a full set of .wavs are in the SoU .bif. I have included edited .ssfs which make these two into full voicesets.
Installation Extract to your NWN2 Override directory; the soundset.2da is offered seperately to make updates easier. The voicesets will be available during character creation for use in single-player modules. In multiplayer games, the SoU/HotU voicesets will not be heard by other players unless they too have the extra .wav files in their own Override directory.
I have put the extra voiceset files into various folders for the sake of organization, but you can reorganize them however you like provided that Override remains a parent directory. If the voiceset .wavs are not within Override, the SoU/HotU voicesets will not work!
Disclaimers I made this modification for my own use and am sharing it with the hope that it will improve enjoyment of the game for others. That being said, this file is offered as-is and without liability.
SoZ-compatible soundset.2da which enables full voicesets as described above. Extract it into your NWN2 Override folder. Voices from SoU and HotU require SoU_HotU_Full_Voicesets.rar to be installed as well.
Full voicesets extracted from the two NWN1 expansions. These weren't included in the NWN2 files, although the voices from the NWN1 OC were. Extract it into your Override directory.
Thanks for this great work! I like this voices very much! Now I can make characters with pleasant voices, which I didn't find in NWN2. _________________________ Oloth zhah tuth abbil lueth ogglin!
I thought left a comment when I updated this a few days ago, but I guess not. Anyway, sorry I left this project unattended for so long; I only recently picked up SoZ and subsequently remembered it. Thanks to Viola for offering help in my absence. I have changed the soundset file to be SoZ compatible and posted it separately so people who already have the sound files don't have to download them again. At this time, the only available soundset enables all the voices as listed in the above description and hence uses both MotB and SoZ. If you don't have these expansions, well, my advice is to get them. They aren't expensive, and I figure that anyone who likes this game enough to be installing voiceset overrides will want all of them, anyway.
Since Non-Prophet's last loggin was in 2007, I thought I'd post some quick instructions on how to get this working with SoZ. In Data/2DA_X2.zip find the file soundset.2da and copy it to your Override folder. Open it up in Notepad, and also open the soundset.2da that you downloaded with this hakpak. Its a good idea to turn off Word Wrap when looking at 2da files. You'll need to edit some lines in the X2 soundset.2da so they match the hakpak soundset.2da. The first piece of information on each line is the array number; the lines that need to be edited - going by the array numbers - are:
210, 211, 213, 214, 215, 342, 346, 347, 351, 352, 353, 354, 356, 405, 409, 410, 411, 412, 413, 414, 417, 444.
Once you're done, save, make sure the soundset.2da you just edited is in your Override folder, and get rid of the one from the hakpak.
im going to guess this doesnt work with MOTB+SOZ installed?

Much thanks! I hate most of the default voices available for PC's in NWN2 SO much, that I'd even prefer to have the voice sets of old Henchmen or NPC's rather than the regular PC ones.
I can't believe that the same company responsible for the mind-blowingly awesome PC voice sets in Icewind Dale 1 and 2 was responsible for the travesty that the player character voicework that NWN2's sound sets turned out to be.
could you update this for MotB? i'm not getting sound from anyone except my characters.

This needs to be updated to work with MotB. It's actually not hard to do yourself if you have a text merging utility.

The nwn2 PC voice acting is lackluster, to say the least. I get to go back and partially relive some good memories with these voicesets, and I appreciate the time you took to reconstruct Katriana and Mischa into full voicesets. Good decision on including only full voicesets btw, imho. A solid must have!

Awesome work and believe me its greatly appreciated. I have a quick question hoping someone can help me out with this. I would like to use the male human cleric voice that was in this hakpak for my Paladin. I'm attempting to use a GFF editor to do it but I am having a hard time figuring out the number for that particular voice. If anyone knows what it is or could tell me how to find out I would really appreciate it.
You'd noted that the .wav files need to be in the override, but I am suspecting that perhaps they will work from a hak, with the exception that the 2DA MUST be in override (and you may not get to preview the voices during character generation). Has anyone tried that? I might test it out and report back. Just trying to minimize things in override for Multi-player / PW play. Thanks

Non-Prophet:
Nice job, I'm very happy to have a few more voices to play with. It's no fun when you have to give your dwarf a human voice.

I have been using this as staple of my override since release, but sadly forgot to vote. Thanks for your work. It adds much needed options to character creation.
