I noticed that a lot of builders like to use the Cave Entrance 01 placeable inside of their cave interiors (tilesets) to enter/exit from the cave system. The thing for me was that the placeable has a stone texture to it and looks weird with the cave tile's dirt textures. So, I tried to solve that here.
Please note that this hak has a custom placeables.2da and doortypes.2da. I took no time to make sure that they will be compatible with other custom content, the lines were added right after the official ones from SoZ. Please edit these 2DAs as you need (which is fairly simple, more-or-less cut/copy and paste, I use MS Excel for this).
I've only quickly tested this on my own computer, so hopefully it all works ok.
EDIT: By request I have added packs with other ground textures. And while this was originally released as a HAK file, I've deleted that in favor of Override style files. This makes it more available to either just have in your Override, or drop into your module folder, campaign folder or import to your own hak.
Also added a Master 2DA which is culmulative and has all the different texture packs combined in a single 2DA for placeables and doortypes. This is for ease of updating. If you plan on using multiple packs, use these 2DA files. They use the official SoZ _X2 versions as the base.
=======================================
Use Instructions:
These are the raw files in Override type format. Just extract the files and place the contents of the Override folders into your Override folder. They may also be copied to your module folder, campaign folder or packed into your own hak. 2DA editing may be needed if you have other custom placeables or doors. After adding, you can Import the contents of the Blueprints folders from inside the toolset, these are .ERFs.
If you are using more than one pack, use the Master 2DA file instead of the one supplied in the individual packs. This file will be updated as new packs are added.

- Models and textures are from those that come with the game, though I did edit the cave door's texture to give the black area (it's actually floor textures).

These should have been in the original toolset. Makes areas much, much better. I couldn't build a convincing arctic are without them. _________________________ The Wizard's Apprentice - A single player adventure for spellcasters guaranteed to rumple your robes and warp your wand!

I give these 8.5 Rubber Chickens! Excellent, Recommended to anyone who builds caves!
I just wish these were around when I began building Wulverheim. My stone textures in the wilderness would have probably been very different and had more variety. Alas Obsidian only provided one cave entrance texture, without even making it tint-able. I felt obliged to use the only stone texture that matched it.
However I will be using one of these for my cave interiors.
Excellent work Knightmare!
I must report also that the first cave in the dirt pack doesn't work for me. It's invisible, but that could be because I'm using something else that conflicts.

These reskins are a great addition to the toolset and offer more variety for builders. I often feel locked into certain textures near the cave openings and this is a definite solution.
I would suggest creating a tint map to add to the MDB files. This will allow for greater flexibility in cave texturing. Since you never have a single texture down, you would be able to add greens/brown/yellow etc to match the surroundings better. Another tint spot would be along the bottom of the model so the look of grass/dirt starting up the cave entrance can be created similar to the original model.
Over all this is an excellent addition and has been added to my toolset.
I added a Beetle Mound placeable textured to fit better into the Caves tileset by special request. It's 2DA is stand alone in the file, but the Master 2DA has been updated to include it.
I expanded the Dirt texture pack, includes Dirt 01 -05 textures. Left the original dirt texture alone so anybody who had that alreay should have no problems, though you should overwrite content as I altered the door texture a bit. Master 2DA file updated.
Thank you to kamal and Spajk for the comments/votes.
