I, personally, do not like the look of any visual effect on weapons. I prefer the look of normal weapons and also need this for my PW.
This mod will simply remove all the visual effects from all weapons.
After looking on the vault I could not find any mods that did this so I made it myself; and I thought that I would share it in case anyone else has the same taste as I do.
Here is an update. I missed a couple effects in the original (weapon of impact and silver weapon effects).
This is a full version, if you downloaded the original (before 6.1.2010) just extract this version to your overide folder and click "yes to all" when prompted to overwrite.

The game has been needing something like this. Thank you for putting in the effort to create this and releasing it to the vault so the rest of us can enjoy it. No more obnoxious weapon effects for me.
BigfootNZ, I would also be interested to see the effects toned down. I would say yours is a different project so you have not been beat to the punch. Although my VFX pack isnt removing the effects just overhauling em and toning them down to visable but not distracting, although Ive also revamped the blood effects.
Hate the OC weapon effects also... I mean really what was Obsidian thinking its like a firework display every time you slap something.

thank you thank you THANK YOU!!! Lol, if you're like me, you too must have passed on some amazing weapons simply becuase the effect was too annoying (sword saint lagecy coems to mind)

I hadn't thought about removing the on hit effects, because I like them, personally, but I will look into it and add a separate file for that if I manage to find them in the quagmire of data...

Question : Do this also remove the big explosion and sound you get when you hit with a weapon with elemental damage?
I really hate those giant fiery explosions.
