Scratch that last comment. I just noticed that you added bottom polygons. I'll certainly be taking a look then. Vote coming after I've had a chance to test it.

I'd encourage you to add polygons to the bottom as well. I've been working on a tree city and one of the biggest frustrations for me is that most of the placeables have nothing on the bottom, and thus are entirely useless to me. I was really excited about this tree platform as it looked to be almost exactly what I wanted, but without anything on the bottom, I can't use it.

I would encourage you to add a version with polygons on the bottom so that builders can use this as a raised platform. This just screams to be used in a tree village, but without the bottom geometry, it's less useful.

Great! Thanks for the help, I'll be sure to post my vote once I properly get it into the toolset and play around with it.

Thanks for the feedback, The problem is solved, Tazpn's script did not export this model properly. Obsidian's did, therefore there is a working walkmesh now, see the in-game shot.

Sorry for the late response, would you be able to post your .2da line and we can check if we got it right? It is for a PW and I'm not the one implementing it, but the person who is would like to compare your line with his...

Posted by gribo at 2011-02-12 01:21:18
Never mind, I have exported it with Obsidian's plugin.

Posted by gribo at 2011-02-08 22:35:18
dcft: can you paste the ;ine you added to placeable.2da?

Posted by gribo at 2011-02-07 11:01:48
Strange, it seems the walkmesh is not included in the MDB.

Posted by DeathComeForThee at 2011-02-06 05:56:39
Alright 2da editing ftw. Ok, now there appears to be no walkmesh on the object. Is this intended or is something missing?

Posted by DeathComeForThee at 2011-02-05 12:45:40
How do I install this into the toolset? I placed the files in the override but cant find the placeable. Sorry, noob question :/

Posted by gribo at 2011-02-04 01:22:24
If by underside you mean polygons capping it from below,
The reason is performance. More polygons -> less fps.
As it is, the platform itself is 1200, which is a bit high, so I took every measure to reduce it.

Posted by Quilistan at 2011-02-03 21:30:15
Sweet! I would love to see a few more variations of this. Also I noticed there is NO bottom/underside of the platform? Can that be added?

Yes, connecting it to other objects should work (The walkmesh edge vertexes are green)

Now that is really neat! How is the walkmesh handled on this? Can I attach stairs to it or a bridge?
