This replaces the default TL_CV_ore placeable object. All i did was adding
a tintable texture i created to the .mdb file.
I'm an amateur when it comes to designing. A Pro could do probably even better, but i think the result is quite good.
On my module i use these ore veins for the mining profession (of course) and it bothered me that i couldn't tint the ore vein at all to show different materials.
Change Color1 to 255:255:255 to get the default look. Leave Color2 and 3 at 0.
Color1: changes the entire placeable
Color2 and Color3 changes the ore veins/gems (the middle part) only.
I have an .erf file included with 12 examples.
Nothing special, nothing big, but for me it is quite useful, so maybe someone else can make a use out of it too.

"Do you have a list of the existing tintable textures that are not linked to their .mdb file?"
So far I've noticed pigs and bears (and fixed both, see the 'Models' section). Unless you go hunting around in the 'materials' ZIP files, then check the models for tintability in the toolset for the tint textures you find, it's hard to say how many unused tint textures there are floating about in the game. Some of the linked tint textures are also next-to-useless (the wolf tint texture for instance had such an opaque alpha channel that you barely noticed any tints in the game).

Thanks everyone, i'm glad that someone in here finds this useful as well.

I myself have gone on many a tint-athon with the game. You'd be amazed how many models in already have tint textures available that the MDB file simply doesn't reference (so the textures do nothing but take up space).
Nice work. This is the sort of thing the game designers should have done originally.

Tinting means more to me! :) Actually this is very useful as it adds a ton of variety to caves with colored glowing lichen of any color I want...hmmm...I choose pink...
