It's probably been mentioned before, but it'd be interesting to do another game in the series - but this time based around the offspring of the Child of Bhaal, with it being as canon that Aerie was the chosen romance option in the previous game, and that the protagonist ascended into godhood.
I've got a basic idea for a plotline down - or at least what encounters and such will happen during the entire campaign, not sure on the main storyline as such - but most of it is going to be based around the invasion of Sythillisian empire on the lands of Amn, and details why they didn't conquer western and central Amn, and how the protagonist (Offspring of the Ascended one, as the long winded mention of his name by followers of the new Bhaal will call him,) helped in the defence of the empire. The arrival of the protagonists father (becoming the Fallen God or something similar) will also play a part in the devastation of Tethyr, and how the confused armies resulting from the end of the Throne of Bhaal chapter were kept back from straying into Amnish territory.
They story itself may expand into a few other parts of Faerun - maybe even Maztica - to include most of the old party. The canon ending party (Aerie, Child of Bhaal, Sarevok, Minsc, Jan Jansen, and Imoen) will play major parts in the story. They'll be silent NPC's and seen as more or less as shadows instead of interactive characters. The player may fight beside these people later in the story, but not as part of their party (the new party will from then contain Minsc, Jan Jansen, Sarevok, Jaheira, and Aerie's daughter/your sister.) NPC characters within the party will be given the same in-depth backgrounds and interactions as was seen in BG2, because the main reason why the BG series was so great was because of how incredibly involving the storyline was. the NWN2 storyline did have such involvements, but it really wasnt to the scale of BG2. We're going to try and achieve that.
This is simply an idea, and an unofficial mod to NWN2 - not an actual sequel before we get someone telling us to stop because of some sort of copyright. =]
The only problem with creating it is as im still at school, i have next to no time to create it with my own hands, and i have next to no skill with the toolkit. So if anybody wants to help out with the creation from there (i'm going to work out the conversational and plotline peices and how to set them or edit them - if you can set it down, i'll stick in all the meaty storyline and set peices where you left the blankspace. =])
So if anybody's interested in helping, comment here, and i'll get back to you.
Please note I may in the future once a team has been formed and we are near completion of the mapwork itself, I may begin to request voice actors, which is why the 6 accomplices of the Child of Bhaal will remain silent, while the CoB may be dubbed with a "Frank the Rabbit" style voice-over. It's a possibility, but if the decision that the recording quality itself is too poor, such a thing will be left out. Email me if you're interested in either voice-acting or helping out with the recording process in the distant future of the module.
Then BG3 it shall be then. =]
The reason I chose Aerie to be the relationship choice of the Child of Bhaal in BG2 was because it DID happen in the BG2 game itself. But as far as i know, i don't think the other two choices offered such an ending, but one could be created.
I'm still writing up the storyline/script for the entire thing so the quests and character interaction is already planned out before i said people the details if you still want to help out with this project.

I believe remakes of BG1 and BG2 had been undertaken, though I am unsure of the status of those mods. _________________________ NWN2 Voting Standards - Tattoo it on your forehead.

Love the idea, though Iwas not a big fan of Aerie, I alway's tried either Jaheira or Viconia, though I like Jaheira more. _________________________ I live and that is enough
Indeed. Perhaps we could do the BG1-BG2:TOB module first and from then complete the BG3 module? It's a solid idea, and it'd be nice to see BG recreated in full 3D.
I agree with Sollaris, I'd also love to see BG2 recreated for NWN2.
Unfortunately BG2 was so complicated, that such a task requires an entire team of talented modders and many months of work. So, in practice it's very unlikely.
An unofficial BG3 module should be almost equally challenging and, in addition, we wouldnt be able to take advantage of BG2 voice acting. I think that recreating BG2 is more interesting, and this team could also apply some variations/changes/additions.
But supposing that such a team is formed, I'd be willing to offer my skills.
I'd like a campaign involving BG1, TOtSC,BG2, and finally SOA. but it might have to wait until after an expansion and epic levels 20 to 40 for latter parts. but that's likely a year away. so if they start on BG1 part it can be finished soon afterward.
I'd like to see the NVN2 version of BG2, since we have most of the tools, monsters, and tilesets...but that woud take a considerable ammount of time. Still, what a champing it woud make...
