When I'm leveling up, I think it would be very helpful to be able to do one or both of the following:
1) reassign "recommended" to "same as last level," so that with one button push I can assign skills to my own choices
or
2) sort the skill list by ranks taken, so all the skills I have some ranks in appear at the top
Either way, if this was implemented it would be more convenient in all situations and it would be especially less irritating to test a build
(you know we all do it: make or download a simple module just to level a character straight to 20 to see if the stats turn out like we thought they would and plan out our feats)
It seems like option 2 would be the easiest, as it wouldn't have to be optional: I doubt it would be terribly confusing if the game just automatically reorganized the skills list every time we leveled up.
In nwn1 if you went into the 2DA's for the class you were building you could carefully change the order in which your skills and feats were listed. That way when you pressed "recommended" you would but the points on the skills and choose the feats in the order that you listed rather than the recommended order nwn desired. You had to be careful about what you put in as the recommended character stat points (STR etc) as it could make a character illegal. I found that after a bit of playing I could do it easily and it made levelling up on the BOTD servers very quick and easy.
I will have a look into what you could add in the GUI but this would be a workaround.
