The most companions in NWN2 are bad written, even the dialog options with them doesn't develop during the official campaign. The romances are unbelievable superficial, not really developed and very rare (and by the way just straight options although we discussed a lot about other options!).
I know it is now much more harder to develop own worlds with the new toolset (this can be recognized by the less stuff which has been released on NWVAULT yet!). What about the possiblity to create new companions for the OC with a good written and developed storylines and quests (and dialogs!) and with a fine developed romance (for both genders!)?
What about to develop Bishop and Neeshka in a less superficial way? New (developing!) dialogs and the possibility to romance Bishop or Neeshka?
I would love a module by Wes Weimar, because he is great in developing such things but he working on his first own CRPG called The Broken Hourglass

Very nice. IMO the companions definitely deserve to be fleshed out a little more.

I would love to have more (and better) conversations with the NPCs of the OC. It doesn't need to be something huge and groundbreaking just something to give the characters little more substance. A great example of this is the banter pack mod for BG2 that gives the NPCs a lot more things to say. I enjoyed that mod immensely and hope something similar could be made for NWN2

I think the companions were mostly written well, but I agree, the romance options should be extended and improved, especially with Neeshka.

I completely agree with this idea, there should definitely be more (and vastly improved) romance options, especially with Neeshka.
I agree with the romance options needing to be tweeked. A few more options would be great.
No reason why most of the females/males in the party cant be an option. Or better yet, have the options influnced but not dictated by the players class/race/alignment choices.
If you play a CG Drow rogue female, chances are you wont score high points with a male Paladin.

I haven't played through yet, but I haven't heard a good thing about the romances. I can imagine it being a really good thing to improve the romances, would certainly add replay value to the OC. _________________________

What's wrong with the toolset? As far as I can tell, it's an improvement. I'm enjoying the OC too, the inconsistencies as so minor that it can't spoil the overall oomph of the thing. We need to be generating new content - rehashing the OC isn't creative. My opinion, of course. _________________________ Regards,

I couldn't agree more, oerwinde.
This actually reminds me of a quote in the first episode of Torchwood, a new Sci-Fi series in the UK. It went something like this ...
"I show you something fantastic and all you can do is find fault."
The wonder, the beautifully told storyline within NWN2 just flies over the heads of some people, like so many metaphorical geese. And the only thing that's left for them to do when they miss the whole point is to find fault.
I agree that there could be more romance options and that's a viable idea.
Generally though, I'd rather see people concentrating their efforts on new projects, rather than something that was incredibly well done with only a few bugs.
To be honest, I feel that with people as critical as that at the helm, all they'd do is tarnish the incredibly /clever/ game Obsidian created.
For the romance point, this gets a 1.75 from me. For everything else, it's a big thumbs down.
Sorry.

That's exactly what the OC needs to make me play it through again!
@oerwinde
Just follow the link above and you will find a lot mistakes and inconsistancies in the storyline and the dialogs. As an example the dialogs of the most companions don't develop at all. The companions often talk about things which haven't happen or which have happen in a different way. Mostly there is no relationship between the storyline and the dialog options. As an example: even in the last chapter you can ask Khelgar who he is or Qara: she has the same dialog options through the whole game. Or the very superficial romances which are not developed at all. Suddenly (even when she hasn't been in your group at all!) Elanne talks about love.
There are a lot of things which could be developed in a less superficial way.

Nice idea, I would love to play an OC Remastered...

Most of the companions in the OC are very well written. Just because the romance options aren't very good doesn't mean the rest of it isn't well written.
Though I do agree that Neeshka should have been a romance option seeing as she was the obvious one.
