This is a simple idea in concept, not so simple to implement.
Say you've just installed a bunch of haks and now (theoretically) have 30 new hairstyles, 10 new wings and 5 new races. If you want to know what they look like for real you have to edit data on your PC, start a new module and look. For. Every. Single. Combination. >_<
My idea would have two parts:
Part 1.
* An boring module with a wide open area.
* 100 unequipped NPCs, in 10 lines of 10.
Part 2.
A program like tlkEdit
Link that can alter NPC details inside the mod file.
You just run the program, choose the parameter you want to check, specify the range you want to check and set other base values if required.
For example if you've installed Oblivion to NWN2
Link you could set it to
Human, Female, Hair 66 to Hair 90
and it would edit NPC data so you can see all the hair versions provided in that hak on a human female.
If you like the hair on NPC 13 then that is hair 13 + 66 (79).
It would also be useful to check if the haks are working properly, and to check what stuff you actually have installed.
Hmmm whats wrong with just opening the Toolset and looking at the new models on an npc in the preview window?.. why do you require an instant full combination layout to judge what a haks models are like?
After all if you have say 3 wing types and 6 new hair... just browse the pieces on a model in 20 seconds manually and im sure most people could say 'hey... i think that one and that one together will be great'... your effectively asking for a 'find me the best combination' button...
Also a hak should work properly by default since it would no doubt be submitted only after the author has tested it to make sure it works. Hak conflicting with other haks just happens, and most authors list other haks that might conflict with their own.
Not trying to shoot your idea down to much but it does sound rather... pointless.
