EVIL EDISON'S HILL GIANTS
By Sean Bates
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everything you need to create an unruly hill giant mob! Package includes five
tintable body models, four heads, two hair styles (3 if you count bald!) and
optional facial hair. Also included is a set of nine unique hill giant weapons
including the infamous anvil mace and boat anchor halberd.
Special thanks to the community members who offered advice and encouragement
along the way. Many of you offered great suggestions, some of which I managed to pull off. I truly regret that I couldn't figure out how to make an Anaconda bull whip :)
I have included blueprints based on the stats in the 3.5e Monster Manual. Feel
free to modify accordingly. You will NOT hurt my feelings. Also, I've included Hill Giant Smackdown, a test module which will allow you to enjoy some immediate giant sized fun! (NOTE: To play this module you must also download the hak file and place it in your HAK directory)
You may also want to check out this hak pak for some boulder tossing fun :)
Lastly, you are free to use this hak pak for any non-profit generating
enterprise. You are free to add it to any compilations as long as proper
credit is given.
Look forward to seeing these fellas in action.
Best Regards,
Sean
UPDATE 10/18/09: Corrected issue with override files. (The head10.mdb file was saved incorrectly)
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
I'm sure you know the drill, but for the record:
1. Put hill_giant.hak in your C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\My Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\hak
folder.
2. In the toolset, add hill_giant.hak to your module by going to View/Module Poperties and clicking
in the Hak Pak column.
Once you have added the hak pak, import hillgiant.erf into your module by going
to File/Import in the toolset.
At this point you should see an entry for both Hill Giant and Hill Giant
Chieftain in the Giants category of your module blueprints. "Giant_Hill" will also appear as an option in the appearances drop down of creature properties. Giant Gear will appear as a
separate category and includes all weapon blueprints.
To Alter Configurations:
1. Select hair, facial hair, tint and head styles as you would for any creature (ie in the properties window.
2. Alter body style by going to Armor Set window. Select "Main Type" and select accordingly.
You can also toggle arm bands by selecting them under "Right Arm" or "Left Arm".
Included body styles
NAKED: Well, not really naked. Just has a loin cloth and not much else. Features tintable tattoos
CLOTH: Base style
HIDE 1: Features stylish leopard skin shoulder pads
HIDE 2: Includes skull necklace
LEATHER: Great for chief or hill giant champion
Individual files if you need to add this to another hak file or compilation. (There was an error in the HillGiants_ovr_101709.rar file so if you got that one, you should grab this one instead)

This is one fine addition to my project. In fact, I can get double duty out of these as small hill giants make superb replacements for the existing ogres models.

Ah mhmh. My thought was. Just take this creature and animations and change the head. So you take all animations and such you already have. The head doesn't move much either and even if. There won't be a problem to let em move both to the same direction. The heads don't turn much either. The only question is, if it's possible to put a bigger head on the creature too. If so. Well. Just create a two-head ^^ Maybe give it a try and just use this model ? :) _________________________ Ja khaless zhah waela !
Ivendar, I've been considering making an Ettin for a while, the problem is there really isn't an ideal skeleton file to work from. The only two headed model in the game is the Fell Troll but it doesn't have weapon animations. You can't very well have an Ettin without the monstrous spiked clubs :) But you're right, as far as the modeling part goes, it wouldn't be too difficult.

Great job. I wonder if you could create Ettins using the bald version of it. Would be great since only the head should be changed. Maybe it's possible to just create another head for choices ? two bald heads ? Now that would be great :) _________________________ Ja khaless zhah waela !

Hi Knightmare. I just downloaded the file on my PC and it opened no problem. Based on your error I'm wondering if the file was completely downloaded when you tried to open it. Maybe try and download it again. Other than that, I'm not sure what could be going wrong :(

Tried extracting the compressed override version and got an error stating "! C:\Users\Chris\Documents\NWN Downloads\HillGiants_ovr_101809.rar: CRC failed in Override\c_hillgiant_head01.dds. The file is corrupt
! C:\Users\Chris\Documents\NWN Downloads\HillGiants_ovr_101809.rar: Unexpected end of archive"
:(
Would love to use this.

Evil Edison, I have posted the update to the boulder throw this morning. I have included a link to this HAK and a blueprint of your hill giant with the boulder toss scripts applied. Again great job on this.

I always seem to be your 12th vote. Nice and muscular. Great to have giants without armor stuck on them. Hope you do stone, cloud, storm and fog giants next. Or turn the fell troll into an ettin. I just realized I have a whole module full of hill giants which I used human models for. I have two modules that use stone giants. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

Incredible models and textures! Yes, thinking of Ted Danson makes Benny the Hill Giant Chief look a lot scarier :)
Issue with the override file has been corrected. I'm a bonehead. Someone I saved a different model as the head model. All better now :) Thanks for pointing it out Shaughn.
