Battlefield NWN is a team-based muliplayer module (though you can play singleplayer if you wish since there are bots).
The module is loosely based on the popular FPS Battlefield 1942 and it's sequels. Capture bases, kill enemies and take tickets from the enemy to win.
Module features:
Level 20 gameplay (you get leveled up).
All equipment supplied.
5 different kits each giving different items and equipment bonuses.
Catapults in lieu of artillery.
Golems in lieu of tanks.
Skills like UMD, Diplomacy, Crafting play a role.
k there is a bug that you can escape out of the death window which is bad. quick fix can be done on that...just a change to the xml file in the campaign folder.
i'll try and find a solution to making the store optional if you talk to him accidentally.
I can also make the base window escapable and add an item that brings up the window if you want it. maybe that's a better solution.
Yeah I had the pulled patch installed (in the middle of a system cleanse so I have nothing ATM) so thats probably what interrupted my death interface sorry bout that.
Forced stores, as in there's no escape if you click on the wrong guy and wanted the other guy instead. You're forced into the store, it's not so much a bug more of an annoyance.
What about a transparent window with colored text if you can't do a graphic. Or even a slimmed down version where its a single line across(*). You could have a toggle control intro or advanced mode (where previously saved gear is used and minimal UI used)

!!IGNORE FIRST COMMENT IT WAS MISINFORMED!!
I was using the pulled 1.05 patch. Secondly this comment is under informed I made it without reloading the module so read on.

and not sure what you meant by forced store. you only have to equip yourself once from the equipment supplied in the store, unless you feel like you want to change your weaponry.
hmm, as far as your death, you are *supposed* to get a GUI pop-up to choose which base you want to respawn at (or start area). If you didn't get the GUI screen, just wondering what version of NWN2 you have. i coded it with 1.05 since I thought it would be relased and staye released.
You did manage to have th base control GUI so, either you do have 1.05 or you used the ingamegui.ini. But, I'd like to figure out why exactly when you died the window didn't pop up.
As far as the GUI for the bases, yeah, i think you just have to get used to it. I have already. It is a bit obtrusive at first. There is no way *currently* to dynamically change a GUI's image file. Maybe after a few patches, Obsidian will add this.
Okay I can see where you're going with this and i'm entertained with the idea (1942/2142 fan myself).
I like the forced equipment idea it makes for a good ability trainer since you're not relying on some random artifact you've found. In fact I hope you stripped characters of their items upon entry/import too.
I was very happy that you included AI characters, not only is it true to the source but it helps people like me play with a friend on the LAN or just by myself. The enemy wizard kicked my booty, and I was quite pleased with that.
Problems so far and there are probably many, but these are the glaring ones I've noticed from my first taste.
*Forced Stores (I know Ok and No Thanks gets old but without you can't do anything else until you've exited the store).
*My first Death = Permanent without respawn option, kind of a gameplay killer when you get worked over and just lay there forever.
*The base control window is a bit over powering taking up a lot of midscreen real estate. Not sure if you can do anything about this but it'd be nice to have options (Color Bar?)
Hope you tinker some more with this.
