This is my submission for the Obsidian Entertainment module contest, April 2007, themed Grimm Fairy Tales. Ive taken inspiration, and characters, from several of the tales, combined with an embarrassing knowledge of the Disney versions, and developed an adventure-type game around these. Other fairy tales have worked their way in there too. The adventure is aimed at first level PCs of any race and class, although level adjusted races will find it more difficult. BY the end of the module, races with no ECL will have reached level 4 and your character will be exported
As per the contest rules, there are 5 areas (1 exterior, 4 interior), and gameplay should take 1-2 hours to complete. The core quest is a race to save a Prince from a wicked spell, but along the way, youll meet several other characters wholl divert you from your goal. There are two core companions, and others will join the party at various points. My aim with the module was to focus on a fun story, with an overarching plot that brought together several different fairy tales, so each could be played in turn. Rapunzel, Red Riding Hood, Snow White, and Rumpelstiltskin all have a part to play in the background of the race to rescue Prince Charming and Cinderellas wedding. The story may seem childish, but being inspired by fairy tales and old Disney filsm, this was inevitable!
There are several new items and creatures; most created for this module contest, some taken from my previous module Palace of the Silver Princess. Scripting/innovations were kept to a minimum given the time constraints (for me to learn how to do them as much as implement them).
I hope you enjoy and please leave your feedback. Thanks to everyone who fed me back comments during the bug hunting - I really appreciate the help!
Vesion 1.1 - 5th June 2007.
Updated to include
- spelling corrections (please note some spelling is deliberate to reflect 'accents' e.g. dwarven)
- speak triggers added at certain points
- OnDeath Scripts altered so ending should fire correctly when you meet Melificent (and then the suprise when you defeat her)
Interesting. The naive story and easy steps in the beginning suddenly transformed in some awfull (to some extend, of cause) hack-n-slash. I was really surprised in the second half of the module. The half-detective story could be much more fascionating, if it wasn't so faerytale-stically stupid. As I guess, it is not the real author's style. I wish you be more "brutal" in future mods!

Wyrin - when comparing the voting for your mod with that for some other mods of the contest I certainly find your average here too low! Thanks to you as well and keep building ;-) !!! _________________________ Aka Gront0307 - because of a second adress..;-)

Fun Mod, liked having to collecting the quest items to complete next challange. Able to mold several stories together without it feeling too busy or confusion.

Another excellent module by Wyrin! The story was fun, the gameplay at times challenging and the concept was enjoyable to say the least. I haven't played all the modules from the contest yet but this one easily rates right up there with the winners. I did encounter the odd typo, here and there and the Repunzel boss fight was a wee bit too hard for my poor aasimar cleric but other then that I didn't encounter any other issues. -R _________________________ NWN2 Voting Standards 10 - A Masterpiece, Genuinely Groundbreaking 9 - Outstanding, a Must Have 8 - Excellent, Recommended to Anyone 7 - Very Good, Deserves a Look 6 - Good, Qualified Recommendation 5 - Fair, Solid yet Unremarkable 4 - Some Merit, Requires Improvements 3 - Poor Execution, Potential Unrealized 2 - Very Little Appeal 1 - Not Recommended to Anyone

I liked this little twisted mod really a lot, playing it with a fresh elven druid (rather familiar with pixies, frogs, witches and the like! ;-) ). Furthermore I experienced no bugs and probs which is by no means self-understandig! So I really would strongly recommend it to anyone... _________________________ Aka Gront0307 - because of a second adress..;-)

I really liked this. Had a blast with a wizard, and yes had to play like I had the intelligence of my character. good job!

Thanks for the votes! Really, I can't beleive i still got so many spelling mistakes through all my checking! As my next project is dialogue heavy I'm gonna have to be extra careful! _________________________ Wyrin Legacy of White Plume Mountain - A Faerun sandbox classic D&D adventure! Wyrin's NWN2 blog

Some really clever ideas and creative encounters. The dialogue tends to be solidly written, but badly spelled, but this doesn't tend to be too distracting. So yeah, this is fun. :)
