Description
D&D 3e Unearthed Arcana (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/unearthedArcana.html) contains a optional rules, and variants of existing races and classes, with the hope of giving players more choice and variety in customising their PCs. This character design module is designed to offer some of the options from Unearthed Arcana within NWN2.

These are currently grouped into Race options, Trait options and Class options. I recommend first browsing the options to get ideas, and playing with a few separate ideas, before focussing on one.

This is a project I�d been toying with in the background, aimed at providing these options for all modules, without mass alteration of 2da files. I thought I�d see if there was any interest in me pursuing it further.


HOW TO USE
==========
Simply start a new Unearthed Arcana module, pick the character options you want, then export your character for use in other modules. The scripts folder will need to be in your override directory in order for many of the abilities to function correctly when you are playing other modules; these are named distinctly such that they shouldn�t interfere with other module scripts.
BUILDERS � feel free to salvage anything you might want to incorporate.

PLEASE NOTE

THis is not intended to be a stand-alone character builder, but to be used with the other character builder modules out there (such as Berliads Forgotten Realm's Character Creator). Options within this mod, such as bloodlines, might need to be activated at each level after leveling up and thus need to be taken at first level




FEEDBACK
========
If these options are of interest to the community, I'll develop this further and add in the rest of the bloodlines, and combat styles. If anyone has ideas/requests for new styles or bloodlines let me know, and if balanced, I'll add them in, with credit where due.

No longer supporting? So no MotB update? *cries* I'm all for book-updates to NwN2... And Unearthed Arcana is one of my favourites... (Next to Expanded Psionics and Players Guide to Forgotten Realms)

CHanges with the release of MotB have mean this no longer functions correctly. I'm no longer supporting this.

No, it's a character creator that has to be run as a module - it makes no claims to have a plot. It's a resource to add something new when playing other modules. As it's aimed for players rather than builders, it's place is in the modules section.

@ ladydesire - thanks. This is mainly to see if there's any interest in a full version. I only did an override as then the abilities can be used in any mods, whereas by my understadning in a hak the builder would need to associate the hak to the mod. Once finished, I could put the items/scripts into a hak that any builder can use if they want this available.

@PoC - Hm I thought that by having the items active in the repository/inventory I got around this problem - but i knew AC would be an issue. Take the silver shards for example. I'll look into this, thanks for pointing it out.

Will be a few days before I can put any more work into this just yet.

It works. Thanks but there is something I'd like to point out. When I got the Suspicious trait item, I can't use the bonuses/penalty unless you actually put said bonuses/penalty in a equip item (rings, necklace,...).

Same goes for the Strong Silver dragon bloodline. The AC bonus works fine but the rest doesn't add up with my base char's stats.

You'll need to put the bonuses in a equip item.

I can guess you wanted to save the various equip slot available but given how nwn2 works, you'll need to put the bonuses in something that can be equipped.

Let say I have a ring that gives me +6 to spot in my inventory. Unless I equip that ring, that +6 isn't going to do it's job.

the scripts folder for the override directory has some files in it that will interfere with the module running correctly.

DELETE the current scripts folder from the override directory, and replace with the new folder (now availaable for download)

It's still frozen. For some reason, the module doesn't want to unpack. (This is before Character selection). And I'm up to date with all the scripts in place.

Oh, and if anyone does still have a crash issue (and their override is otherwise empty), and they know how to use the toolset, let me know, as it'd be good to have any help in tracking this bug down... :(

NEW VERSION
OK I downloaded the version from the vault and it ran fine on my machine with patch 1.06. But I've moved the start location to avoid any potential issues with baking, and double checked other parts - please do let me know if this is still stalling
- which patch are you using (i only tested this in 1.06)
- does it hang before/after character selection?

I have the same problem as Hagaar, I waited about 5 minutes but it never loaded.

Bad news. It hangs in the Load Screen (I waited some six minutes before backing out to Desktop. Files (what there are/were in the DL were placed where needed and I'm running a XP OS machine).
