These four modules were part of the 2006 NWN1 Bioware Module Contest. As such they are only one area each, making them ideal for conversion to NWN2. This is a test to see what crosses over from NWN1 to NWN2 in a direct conversion. Nothing has been changed from the original except appearances, the map has been filled with one terrain type, and the area has had 8 rows added west and south, and 8 rows deleted north and east to move the module into the walkmesh zone.
If you are considering converting from NWN1 to NWN2, you should check these out. Two of them got 20 votes in the Contest. They are some of my best writing. Be sure to read the journal entries, both started and completed.
Meant to be an African-themed module, I didn't figure out about changing complexion in time. The lion is now a cat. The ox is now a pig. The bug with continuous experience from the well is still here. I got the wrong version.
My conclusion is that you can load a NWN1 module into NWN2 directly, but expect to have to redo a lot of appearances, all stores (the items have the wrong icons) and many plot items. The problem was indoor areas but there is a NWN1 area converter plug-in which will convert some stuff over for you. I would call it an upgrade. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.
uhh...what was your conclusion? Is it a new game or an upgrade? How did you 'port
these modules? Basically just rebuilt them in NWN 2? Did you open the .mod file in the NWN2 toolset?
More info :)
I converted these as a result of a conversation with Lord Rosenkrantz over whether NWN2 was an upgrade of NWN1, or a totally new game. I'll be finishing a full-fledged NWN2 module in a month or two. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.
