Description
Jingle bell, Blessed bell,
Silent night tonight.
Wintervall Festival,
Baatezu's delight.
Description: A short holiday themed combat-centric Christmas present to the community. This is a one hourish long module and a pseudo-sequel to 'Cry Wolf' Link (you don't need to play that first though!).
Features:
About 45-60 minutes play time
Challenging combats
Dark but Humorous story
Storyteller mechanic
Unique scoring system
Roleplay/Skill use Light
About Now, the whole thing was knocked up in a few night's work, so don't expect a masterpiece. However faced with the traditional aprez-lunch Oldster ailment and illness monolog, this short module may just be a viable alternative until they drift off to sleep!

thanks for this little module.

Fun little winter adventure. Don't play multi-player. Kinda strange in way set up. I think you can go out of order a bit because there is nothing blocking you from an alternate route to the toy-maker's cottage. Fun for what it is. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

Dialogue
Clean, well-written dialogue throughout.
Characters
Great characters, a return of my favorite character from Cry Wolf, and some original Christmas-themed enemies and NPCs.
Quests
The quest is straightforward and simple, but well-constructed.
Overall Story
Fun, quick story, that uses the formula from Cry Wolf.
Items
Not many items in the module, but for the final fight, a nice boon that makes a difficult fight a bit easier.
Enemies
Unlike Cry Wolf, I felt the enemies here were much more balanced. The fights are still very challenging, but its not nearly as frustrating of an experience.
Puzzles
No puzzles to speak of.
Bugs
This module is clean, clean clean!
Grammar
Better spelling and grammar than Cry Wolf. Proofreading goes a long way!
Overall Pluses:
*Original and unique Christmas-themed setting.
*Exciting battles and challenging battles.
*Clean, and bug free.
*Unique Resting/Death XP bonus system here as well.
Overall Constructive Feedback:
*Super-short.
*Final battle and module ends rather abruptly.
7.75 Very Good, Deserves a Look. _________________________ Smorpheus' Toolset Visual Index Link

Maybe I should have played this mod a few month earlier for this setting ...
Story is ok.
Fights were unbalanced: I played first as a warlock and it was almost impossible to defeat the spellresistant enemies. This is probably a problem for all casters. The companions didn't help much as they were the first ones to die. (I will never understand why a fighter uses a two-handed weapon when he could have a tower-shield.)
As a fighter I was running through without problems and without challenge (and I didn't use good equipment).

Fun little holiday mod. Enjoyed the story teller aspect much! _________________________ Website: Link

A nice, quick module with an interesting enough story to keep me engaged. I didn't find any bugs or problems.

Ah... I'm a bit late for the x-mas spirit... but it was still pretty fun. Love the storyteller part. Combat was well-balanced (although golems kicked my ass!!! 30-35 damage? Ouch!). Started Fighter 6/Thief 3, gained a level.
Very good mod + 0.5 for the heck of it. But I would've liked a few more RP opportunities through dialogue
I will probably do a small set of alterations in the new year to tidy hings up a bit.
And I am glad you like the piccy Ugleberg; new NWN2 capable PCs are pretty cheap at the moment so your wish may not be too far out of reach if you start saving :)
Love your wallpaper-picture of "Wintervall".
Makes me wish I had a stronger computer so I could play NWN-2 too, he he...

How could I not recommend a good time to everyone? 8.25 is my score!
Thanks for the humorous x-mas mod, Lorft - I look forward to your upcoming works!
*SPOILERS*
-I had the same problem with that trigger as Wyrin did (Toymaker not appearing at first). But I did as you said here and ran back, so it all worked out.
-After I defeated the first wave of attackers in the village, I noticed the dude by the fire say "Thankyou" w/o a space. Nothing big (at least for me, but you know some people...) ;)
Thanks for the comments Wyrin, am glad you had fun.
I dunno what was up with the Toymaker spawn the first time round - I had a bit of a test and couldn't reproduce the error.
I should probably go back and lower the Drow's SR - I had forgotten about that when I copied the blueprints.

7 - Very good. +0.75 for christmas spirit!
Played Half-orc Sorceror6/RDD3 - finished Sor6/RDD4
Good fun little mod, with challenging combats hung on a clever seasonal story. Toymaker appeared without a problem second run through. Storyteller aspect is really clever and well executed, as with Cry Wolf. Only 70% for me, but my sorceror caught a few criticals too many (and suffered form the elves @#!% spell resistance...) ;) _________________________ Wyrin
Glad you enjoyed it Jonesy, hopefully some more will too!
I might do a slight rework in the new year, I am reluctant to do much to a module that only has appeal for two weeks of the year though :)

Always good to see another mod - thanks for the Xmas gift!
Overall a good fun mod - perfect for a little morning game... The storyteller was perfect for a mod like this, I thought it was pretty creative. I really enjoyed it.
I didn't have any problem with meeting the toymaker...bug free from my persepective.

yeah - it wasn't firing for some reason. tried walking over it a few times. will try again from a fresh save _________________________ Wyrin
After both golems are dead there should be a trigger that causes the toymaker to spawn when you walk near to his house. You may want to try walking away from and then back towards the house.
Cheers, Lorft.

Hey Lorft
Great to see you building and getting stuff out there - looking forward to oyur planescape work
This was quite fun - but I think something went wrong - is there a trigger after the golems at the toymakers house? I defeated the golems and as I walked past the game paused slightly like I'd hit a trigger, but nothing happened. Can't enter the toymakers house at all. Not had a chance to open up in toolset to check yet _________________________ Wyrin
