I am hoping to assemble a team to put together what I would like to be a full length (Level 1-30 ) campaign with a little bit of everything for all classes. I am hoping with this project we can showcase some of the best talent in the modding community, and make something that will be a lot of fun for everyone.
I have submitted a very small portion of what I have so far. (The whole comes to Roughly 100 areas, thousands of items, characters, scripts, etc.) Hopefully what I have submitted here will give you an idea of what I have in mind. I am going for something somewhat non-linear, with lots of variety, humor and adventure.(Sort of like a combination of Tortured Hearts and Boutique Du Temps with a little bit of Daggerford thrown in.) with unique items, areas, creatures, crafting and lots of optional side quests.
I was so disappointed with NWN2 the day it came out, that I immediately started to learn the Toolset in order to make something better, and well, I think I've come a long way.
To sum things up, I am hoping every one enjoys this, and that some of you want to show off your talents by combining them with those of other modders with time and talent to spare.
Thanks,
This is the smallest, but most finished portion of what I have so far. It will take you from level 1 to level 3 or 4 in about 2 hours, depending on how much you explore. This is the Prologue to The Epic Campaign "The Unexpected Adventure."
The next part of the Campaign (The mod's name is "PORTSHIRE") is not far behind. Will send more files to anyone willing to help with the project.
STARTING LEVEL 1-
(Character will be relevelled, if neccesary)
RACE/SEX/CLASS-ANY (Although some rogue skills recommended)
SINGLE PLAYER Tested/ Willing to help make multi player and/or persistent world possible
POSSIBLE ANNOYANCES: The journal entries won't display properly, since the journal is set for the Campaign, and this mod is only a portion of it. (No campaign file included with the
Prologue sample.) That shouldn't affect playability, though.

The only things your parents left you when they died were your pet pig, Harold and an old shack in the swamp. Even though you don't have the love for the swamp that your parents did,
you've managed to be fairly happy scrounging by , until one night you are awoken out of a deep sleep by...

DIRECTIONS: Unzip mod file into your modules NWN2 modules folder. At this point, no HAKS neccesary.
PRELIMINARY CREDITS: Lilac Soul and Rowell of the lovely chests
P.S. I'd love to help you speed along/enhance anything you're working on, too.

I seriously, truly HATE it when somebody submits a 1st lvl beginner module and then ruins it by automatically leveling you up. Why the hell would I choose and create a new 1st lvl character if I wanted him to automatically start at lvl 2. The best experience is the fear of a new 1st lvl character. So many module writers act like junkie morons and automatically boost characters. It ruins and INSTANTLY ends the module for me. It's one of the worst, overused things that really make it an arcade game. Therefore, since it's so frustrating and disappointing I have to give it a 2.
As the post stated this is only a very small portion of the whole. It is intended as a sample, hopefully enough to recruit individuals with time and a small portion of talent, who have some knowledge of the toolset. I am hoping for people who are interested in brainstorming, playtesting, scripting, writing, etc, whatever the individual strengths are. There are a dozen more mods in the campaign, some of which are nearly complete, all of which could use a different point of view for critique, side quests, scripting, and just plain flavor. I love randomness, humor, and points of view different from my own. Further portions of the whole will be sent to anyone who wants to work on the project.
By the way, if it only took you an hour to get through, you most likely missed something. Please be patient, Portshire will be releaed soon, probably with the campaign folder, which will make things much clearer, as the journal will then be available.
what exactly is supposed to be happening in this? I made it through the mere and to Captain Blarney, I am level 2 and it took less than 1 hour; is this all you've got?
I don't mean to be rude, I am just curious.
thanks
It is set in The Forgotten Realms setting, but not fully embroiled in the events occuring in Neverwinter. However, I would prefer that it be a little less doom and gloom heroism, with the hero/heroine having more choice in thier actions, or maybe at least the possibility of retaliation later, if this choice needs to be taken away for plot reasons.
I would like diverge occasionally, though, with certain references, usually tongue in cheek, to
some Fairy Tales and other well loved video games. (This occurs in dialog, area settings, and side quests.)
