Warning: Female Human Charactor. To play this with a Male is just plain weird.

Mankind have turned their backs on the gods...
Crimson Cherry 2: Demon Womb continues 17 years after the original with Innocence where a young cleric who must face, not only the dangers of an apocalyptic world, but also the fate of her soul. The greatest battle one must face is not always fought on the field
(Whereas the original lead the hero down a single path, the Good/Evil Chaotic/Lawful elements play a far larger role in CC2.)
The Renn scene confused me, I kept dieing to his death magic, and it would start the cutscene, then it would say game over and I would have to reload, might want to remove his death magic, assuming this mod is still being worked on at all anyway.
Thought I'd inquire if we might be lucky and get a single installer file when the game is brought into line with the 1.23 patch and you fix the bugs as you've mentioned when V2 is brought out of beta?

@ Loves - Happy to have a fan. As for the Deity... By the 3rd chapter it will make no difference.
@ Spellsinger - Thanx for the info, one day when I'm finished CC2, I will go back and fix my old mods.
God mode seems absolutely required to survive the Renn encounter if playing under 1.23. But he does not return to gnome form and remains in bear form at the end. Also if you choose to spare him clicking on him restarts the whole sequence.
Jill asks you to bury her bones but there is no place to do this, and it is not at all clear if you should keep them for part two or just leave them somewhere.
The journal entry for a dream night with Shani is still present yet if I smashed the pitcher and got a meeting with a celestial named hope instead. It isn't present before I entered the portal and shows up only when I arrive back in the settlement and the dream meeting with the celestial is not documented in the journal.
However this time around things went much smoother with the rats and spiders and such, the final battle was even anti-climatic compared to the previous two attempts at it. I redid Renn one time more than I needed since you loose your armour and I had not spotted that the "woodsman outfit" is actually hide armour not just an set of clothes like in NWN. I would say that recommending "martial weapons proficiency" for one of the starting feats would make sense since your best weapon is otherwise not available to you. I'd give the module a rating between 7-9.

Firs of all I must say that the firs time I've played your module I was a bit scared because I thought it was only a erotic module without a real story, but the second time, one year later I've finally seen the real masterpiece that is your module and the tragic and poetic story it tells: so I must say, now, your module is one of my favorite and I really love your use of music and your creativity with the places (like the under water place).
So I'm just telling that you have gained a fan and that from now on I will play and hopefully love all your modules.:D
Ps: I have just a question, in my fist playthrough, I've played a chaotic good character so I choose Sune, but for my next run I wanted to do a more evil character. What god must I choose ?

Just finished uploading the last of the four files to the FTP site today (248MB)and have instructed BeyondThePale (Site Manager) to post them to my entry. If think they will activiate it thereafter.
Had some Internet issues on this side, that delayed the upload by a day. Comes from living in a 3rd-World Country.

Playing through and sorting out all major bugs and difficulties.Should take about a week or two. Afterwards I will be releasing a beta version for fan testing and critic, while I sort minor issues and overall improvement.
As I has SoZ installed and patched I have a feeling it is required.

Finely completed Chapter 2. Busy testing and fine tuning.
Thanks guys, I'll try it out on the weekend. God mode it is, as apparently dm_heal isn't a NWN2 console command. I'm not looking forward to the conversation if the journal entry I got is any indication though.
Posted by Thirdpres at 2010-04-07 13:17:29 Voted 8.75
I was thinking of suggesting using godmode to keep the inferno damage from killing your character. You can also click through the conversation quickly. Once the conversation is over you get healed up, all spell effects removed.
Posted by thhunter at 2010-04-07 07:08:24 Voted 8.25
I think what I ended up doing was turning on godmode until the inferno wore off. If you want to be safe, you could wait until the shapeshift wears off too. It's probably not completely necessary but it might be possible for him to get in a big enough hit to kill you and miss the trigger. He didn't do much casting beyond that for me.
The real key is you don't want the damage over time effect active when your hp gets low enough to trigger the conversation.
Not sure about the dream or journal entry. I still haven't had a chance to play through things again.
Hmm...the first time I lost the fight and got a game over your dead sort of ending, hence I assumed that the idea was to avoid it. Not sure how to use the information Thirdpres. I guess I can try and see if he doesn't cast inferno but switches into bear form right off...or possibly have a look at console commands...heal should work I think. Keep healing till the inferno wears off (or set god mode for the first part of the fight till he runs out of spells...then things should work out "properly", good thing I have a save just before talking to Renn).
I am still confused about the journal entry for Shani and my character in a dream, since I don't get that dream. I am not sure if the glitch is getting the journal entry or not getting the dream itself.

Renn is supposed to beat the pulp out of you, then a conversation starts between your beaten down character and himself. The problem is that you are running away from him on the one hand, thus he disappears, and on the other hand the new AI is causing him to kill the player before the conversation starts. Because the script governing the conversation does not include clearing the spells' effects (inferno in this case) the damage continues until the player is killed, even during the conversation unless you are lucky, or have enough healing potions to survive long enough.
The latest patch/SoZ significantly improved caster AI so they make much more effective use of their spells then before. In this case Renn becomes effectively unbeatable. In my battles he casts barkskin on himself, inferno on the PC (10 hits per round), calls lightening, then shapeshifts to a dire bear (+18 AB!!). I still had spells left but a color spray, 3 light, and 1 cure minor wounds is not sufficient to the task of taking on a higher level druid with full spells. I don't see any way to survive outside of trigger the cut scene, drink the invisibility potion and run. What is odd is that he just vanishes, it led me to think this was what the PC was supposed to do.
If you have never smashed the pitcher then I doubt you would get the request from Jill. Do you get the dream meeting with Hope when you go through the portal to return? I am wondering if I get this one rather then the dream with Shani? I find the journal entry about a dream I didn't see odd, and I checked; it is from going through the portal to exit the cave, the entry shows up when I arrive in new haven again.

@Spell Singer
*spoilers follow*
I did have a problem with Renn the last time I played the module. It was really, really hard to survive long enough to trigger the conversation. The first time I went through, he didn't cast or shapeshift at all, he just beat me senseless. I wonder if Zehir or a patch changed the behavior somehow.
I don't recall a conversation with Jill about her bones and I never broke the pitcher, so I'm afraid I can't help there. I should play through it again.
I didn't find the lack of rest a real problem to get through the game, but it was more an issue of going up 2-3 levels and not being able to make use of your new abilities. As this encompasses about half the module that is an issue.
One comment on Raen at your return home. He appears to be undefeatable, since he changes into a dire bear with a +18 attack bonus and your AC is 22 or so. Coupled with inferno and I can't see how you can win this at level 4. It would have been better to trigger a cut scene of him talking to the other fellow, lamenting that you weren't there, explaining what he did and then leaving. As it is you just have to trigger the cut scene, drink the invisibility potion and run around until he vanishes.
I do have two questions though. I have a journal entry that makes no sense. The PC smashed the pitcher in the cave, and then when she entered the portal she spoke to Hope. My journal mentions a dream with the PC and Shani and that certainly I didn't see. Is it because I broke the pitcher or is it a glitch?
Jill asked the PC to bury her bones. There was no way to do that I could find. Did I miss something?

Chapter 2... So close and yet so far. Right at the end and I've run into a total mental block. So far I'm happy with it except with the conclusion, which can totally make or break a game. May take a little longer...
