Well, it's pretty sloppy in all honesty--as if not much effort were put into it. More like the author was experimenting with the world map. fair enough. It was over as quick as it started, so it's hard to vote any higher.
I finally tried this one. I'm not sure if it's the module (judging from prior comments, I'd assume not) or MotB + SoZ + MoW at 1.23 ... but this is completely busted under that configuration.
Once the overland map is departed, the next area shows a transition to the barbarian cave but only leads you back to the overland map. Can't go any further.

Hey Mike, thanks for this little adventure. I don't vote lower for short mods. With more fleshed out and interesting/well written conversations, better looking and more detailed areas and some more polish (no running through tables, less typos, no getting the same poem again and again when trying to talk to the kids, etc.) I could've voted considerably higher. The little story in itself was alright. There's potential there. The "bad guy" was interesting. There are the relations between the barbarians and the village folks. And so on. And I don't mean just potential for a large-scale mod. Such things could be developed - the characters made somewhat deeper, the dialogues given some more consideration - even within the limits of this sort of a side-quest style module.

This is a good beginning, thanks for making it.
It took me only a few minutes because I followed the villagers out the door & then followed the map (first to the druid & then to the cave). For that reason, I would suggest making it a bit _more_ linear. For instance, the innkeep suggests you listen to the bard, the bard has her say, the guy rushes in with the tale of the missing child, the outside door doesn't open until you talk to the innkeep again, etc.
I agree, this is a good _start_ of what may become an epic.
Maybe if I expand it to an Icewind Dale SOZ-type campaign. It a question of seconds counting. There is a sense of urgency to get to the child before it is too late. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.

Not bad if you used as a sidequest or the start of a larger quest like someone else mentioned. It would be nice to get a chance to talk to the people in the inn before the child disappears and the villagers rush outside.

Short & sweet (& snowy) adventure set in the Realms? Awesome - I'll be sure to check it out once I have an appropriate character for it. :) _________________________ Forgotten Realms Weave

I really enjoyed this. Only gave it a six because I pretty much agree with you on how modules should be scored. It was a good little story and I liked seeing the world map in use.
What this module really is, is a perfect side quest or beginning of a bigger main quest for a larger campaign.
Again, glad to see you putting party creation and the world map to use, many thanks for the fun.
Shoot, I forgot the kid. I got rid of the unlimited experience the mother used to give but forgot him. Thanks. I'll fix it.
It's just a seasonal module, not to be taken too seriously. Thanks for actually voting. Anything over 5 for this type of module is good. Anything over 6 for a medium module is good. Anything over 7 for a large module is good.
Think of this as an experiment with the overland map. To see what else can be done with it.
Gotta admit the load times are quicker than SOZ. _________________________ The road to Ravenloft is paved with good intentions.
