The Blood War is the second module in the 'Tears of Ilmarid' campaign. It is designed to be a continuation of the first chapter, which would have left you with a character around level 12-13.
The story so far...
The rumors of a surviving heir to the throne of Ilmarid were true, and she showed up on your very doorstep. After braving pirates and an ancient, living, dungeon cursed by the actions of men nearly two thousand years dead, you arrived in Ilmarid. Rumors had been spreading here as well, and many supporters of the Princess' return have already begun to rally together. They were not the only ones who learned of the rumored return, however, as you discovered when the Archmage Kriev himself attempted to assassinate the Princess before the rebellion could even begin. Even now you are caught in the mental battle with Kriev; losing means death, for the princess, and for you.

The Hak Pak files for this module are linked separate due to the increased size with the release of Chapter 2. There is an all-in-one package as well as individual parts that can be downloaded.
Overwrite the old files with the new ones included in the Chapter 2 package. Nothing from Chapter 1 has been modified in the files, but most of the hak paks have additional content required to play Chapter 2.
Addendum: If you are using a version of Chapter 1 older than 2.0 and plan to use the Chapter 1 Bypass, it is recommended that you download and install the version 2.0 files to prevent compatibility problems.
To use the Bypass, install the module file in your Neverwinter Nights 2\Modules directory. Then, in game, start a new module and load the Chapter 1 Bypass with the character you wish to use. For additional information on what the Bypass allows you to do, please read the included Instructions.txt file.

A lot better than the first part.
Exceptional area design and the proof that maps don't need to be huge to filla god plot with life.
The plot itself was intriguing and very fast paced. I liked it and it's sad that we will probably never see part three.
Unfortunately all of the cut-scene/companion bug were still there. I got repeatedly attacked during cut-scnenes and there were numerous infinite xp-bugs for the companions.
Could somebody please tell me how to start chapter 2? For some reason the mod just doesn't seem to be aware of the chapter 2 mods and no matter what I do I'm either dumped to the desktop or only given the choice of starting chapter 1 again. I tried the mod to skip chapter 1 but that didn't work either. I would really like to continue the game and would appreciate any help anybody can give me!
Has anybody on a Mac been able to play chapter 2? I can't get it to work and am beginning to think that it might be because the names of the mods are too long. Any advice? I haven't heard back from the author and would really love to start the next chapter.
Thanks!
Karen :)

A good solid module. I think that part 2 is better than part 1, the design and story felt more polished (although part 1 was good also). A melee character is a must!
Is there a release date for part 3?
Decided to download this series last week. I've been truly enjoying it, but I ran into a bit of a spot. I'm in the sewers and have killed all the bad guys, but I can't seem to find a way out. I've covered every inch in Search Mode and with the Z key, and checked all the loot, but can't find a door or transition. I've prob'ly spent over an hour looking. Help!

very good module!

A lovely sequel, thanks. Two bugs that I noticed - could only ever have the one convo with Gregory, him asking to join you and then getting loads of xp. I'm assuming we were supposed to be able to have additional conversations. Also, the thug ambush in the same area we recruited Gregory triggered twice. Otherwise solid, plus very interesting. Hope chapter 3 is still underway. Thanks for your hard work.

An excellent sequel to the HoF prequel. A slight improvement in most aspects with the exception of being a bit unpolished. Various cutscenes will fire up every time you talk to the person (for example, Gregory which also give him xp every time I talk to him; the cutscene with the thugs attacking the rogue fired again when I charmed one of them during the fight and talked to him; the one with Evalyn before teleporting into sewer). Also the lack of conversation between Evalyn and Gregory was unexpected when she specifically asked u to bring him to her. The lack of events for the treaty signing was also disappointing.
The area design is still my favorite, love the theme of Neridan. (I even spend some time running around taking screenshots which I've never did in other modules)
Very nice mod! But I'm stuck,I have to find a tome of chaos but I have no new area showing on my map. Also, I have a problem with Gregory. The only dialog I can have with him is the first one, about the ambush. I've had it 3 times with him leveling up, allowing a nice L20 tank lol, afterward I just have the same dialog. I find it strange too that Annias doesn't react to his presence when I get back to him. Any idea?
Nope. Empty override. It crashes before character creation or selection.

I have yet to be able to duplicate that issue, but you are not the first. There's a thread on it (started by Sirchet? I believe) over on the official forums, and one of the most recent posts indicated that local vault characters that may have been created using custom content from another module/hak pak can cause that error when the module/campaign starts. More specifically, when it tries to load local characters for your selection and they are referencing content that does not exist in the current hak paks or campaign folder.
Aside from that, the only other thing I can tell you to do is make sure your override folder is clean. _________________________ |<><><>The Tears of Ilmarid Campaign<><><>|

I get a "this module was created using a different version of the toolset, or it is corrupted" message. I have 1.23 and MoTB.

I know this vote will go up once the final chapter is done. So far I'm finding this very exciting n the way you leave it at the end makes one want to keep playing in other words lol whens the last chapter comin out lmao.
I love it, I did have a few probs but I think one was on my end where the game crashed but I was able to go bk to my save n reload it n played perfectly there n the other was with Gregory. When I ran into him there was no dialogue with him when you first enter the area but after fightin the bad guys you go n talk to him n he's suppose to join your group but nada. So I decided to reload the game later n it all worked right. Besides that there was no other bugs I found. N I my override folder was empty.
Can't wait for the final chapter. Good Luck n Thank you for such a wonderful series so far. _________________________ "Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. The Prophecies will be fulfilled. The Dragon is Reborn."

Sorry to take so long to get back to you, I tried the "add Gregory" commands and it did not work. I had found an earlier save game where Gregory showed up. I ran through the module and the last scene performed flawlessly. Maybe on the next revision you could make it where he is added automatically. I really liked the campaign. Nice attention to detail and a good philosophical bent. _________________________ "Some have to dance, some have to kill" - My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult
Hey! I really love this mod, the story is very enjoyable and I love the enemies and characters you've created.
However, I am having an issue that's causing the game to crash. After I destroyed the 3rd tome, and told Ishmael I was ready to go, the game crashes during the loading of the next portion of the module. It does START to load, and it even says "area loaded succesfully," but after that the game crashes. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
Also I really love Ishmael's armor and I was wondering if you could tell me what the giveitem code for it is as I'd love to use it on my PRC.

It's easy to skip that step with Annias since it appears the next time you return to the Inn. Depending on when you talk to him about that, you may not come back. I meant to add a little note in the conversation to that effect. _________________________ |<><><>The Tears of Ilmarid Campaign<><><>|

Like Chapter 1, I really enjoyed Chapter 2 (writing, production value, immersion). My only feedback is that the Annias never gave me the item that would protect the fighter that Kriev controlled in Chapter 1. Also, I was very surprised that the two quests to secure treaty sign off were very brief fetching exercises. I really expected some twist or other effort to convince the parties to sign. Overall, well done!
Tried opening every module and each area in the toolset and saving, so it would have the same version as mine.
TOOLSET version is 1.0.1765.0, still no joy, same message.
I tried downloading with a different browser in case firefox was messing with the files,(would be the first one) then doing a clean TOI install and adding 1.1.1 hot fix.
Same message.
Ideas? _________________________ Help is good when asked for,

Installed the 1.1.1 Hotfix and still receive the following message when choosing Tears of Illmarid, Saga of The Blood War campaign. Almost instantly after clicking the select button.
Could not load the module.
Module file might be corrupt OR it was created using a newer version of the toolset and/or game resources.
This message pops up in a NWN2 window and it is before character creation or choosing.
I'm running MotB and SoZ version 1.023 (1765) (Final) August 17 2009-17:29:45.
Weird, wild, wacky stuff this is ... sure would love to play this one. :)

Very good sequel. Only trouble was with the shadowwyrm - that thing regenerate too fast, but I see that I was not the only one with that problem.

@Ancaruin:
That's what I figured. I thought I had fixed Gregory's bug before, but when I looked earlier it was still possible to be bypassed. Kriev's conversation fails if he's not in the party.
You should be able to do this before talking to him:

Just realized that for Chapter 2, the folder names are off - the archive has Campaign instead of Campaigns, so it is putting the files in the wrong place. I'm in the process of uploading a hotfix, one for just the one .mod file I have modified and the Campaigns folder, as well as a full package update. _________________________ |<><><>The Tears of Ilmarid Campaign<><><>|

@Ancaruin:
Who all is in your party when you talk to Kriev?
@buckwheezer:
What class or classes do you have on your character? So I can have an idea what the group balance is. _________________________ |<><><>The Tears of Ilmarid Campaign<><><>|

I'm have a similar problem to what Gemini63 was having with the conversation dropping off with Kriev after the first sentence. Any solutions? I tried the earlier scripts you suggested but they didn't work. Thanks in advance. _________________________ "Some have to dance, some have to kill" - My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult

Definitely too hard for me. I can't get passed him.

@krimag, sirchet:
The only other time I have seen that issue, it was rejecting based on the character being used for whatever reason. Does it work with a fresh character?
@ArthurP:
There may be a console command you can run, I'll try and look into this and see what I can find. @buckwheezer:
There's really not a specific trick to beating him, but I can tell you moving him doesn't make a difference.
It's been a tricky fight for me to balance, as you can tell if you check through the comments. Seems like half found it too hard and the other half found it too easy. _________________________ |<><><>The Tears of Ilmarid Campaign<><><>|
