Installation instructions: Place the Thesk_AiN_1_02.mod file in your Neverwinter Nights module folder (default is C:\Users\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\modules)
This is the continuation of 'Thesk - Adventures in Mosshold'
'Thesk - Adventures in Nyth' is a single player module for Neverwinter Nights 2. The Mask of the Betrayer and SoZ expansions are required to play this module.
This module is designed for a level 5 character of any class/race. The easiest way to get a level 5 character and learn more about this series is to play the first Module.
Link: Link
'Thesk-AiN' focuses on action, adventure and GAMEPLAY STRATEGY, the role playing as with most of these games is left up to you how much or little you wish to do it, but combat will be challenging, especially for spellcasters and ranged classes.
There are 40 areas and over 80 conversations\one liners. Theres also a familiar face hidden in the Market District, bonus points for spotting them! (just for fun)
Mod Builders: Feel free to use anything out of the mod you need, but give credit where applicable - thanks.
LEVEL: Start at level 5. This Module will take you to level 8.
LENGTH: The module should take about 4 hours to play.
DEATH: There is no permanent death (unless both you and your companions die) then it's reload time! So SAVE OFTEN! Make sure you only use a level 5 character
to prevent the game becoming too easy!
COMPANIONS: There are companions to help you. They will be familiar to you if you've played the first module... Kiro, Suki and Ryu. Make sure you take them, as
some of the module is dependant on having them with you!
QUESTS: There are eight side quests and one main quest (Finding out who the 'Gold Circle' are.)
WALKTHROUGH: There is a very basic walkthrough provided in the .zip file. It does however contain spoilers! So check your Journal first then only use the walkthrough
if you're really stuck.

Well done module, overall. I enjoyed it quite a bit despite it being pretty light on the roleplaying and character motivations and interactions that I usually look for in campaigns I select to play. No real problems--a few minor things I noticed included the rat catcher bag never transferring to Crusty as it was supposed to when the quest ended and like someone else mentioned there were a few boxes that highlighted without being openable. There was also one door towards the end that required a special key, but no one in the antagonist's headquarters had dropped one, and I couldn't find any sign of a key anywhere. I probably spent 40 minutes scouring that area and backtracking through earlier areas before giving up and just bashing the door to get to the next stairway transition. But, despite having a few flaws and frustrations, the module was nicely balanced, beautifully arranged, fast-moving and a treat to experience. Along with its prequel, these are definitely worth recommending to anyone wanting to quickly take their PC to 8th level in a concise but satisfying, well-crafted and beautiful series of connected adventures.
Best regards,
Dantastic

A very good sequel to "Adventrues in Mosshold". A good plot and interesting quests. Somewhat light on the roleplaying and generally (somewhat easy) combat oriented.
The city feeling was captured very well and it was fun to play.
Everything worked fine and it ran bug free. There was only two thing that I noticed:
SPOILER
- When you pass the dark monastery, there is no backtrack option. Unfortunately when I went through the monastery I hadn't delivered the goblin chiefs head yet, so I was never able to resolve that quest. probably my fault, but a warning before the player leaves the monastery would be cool.
- When I accepted the magic shop quest in Nyth (graveyard) I decided to shop and rest first, but in the second dialogue with the shopkeep there is only the option to teleport to the crypt. So I ended up unrested and without potions ina dungeon. It might be a good option to include a "let me see your wares first" in the dialoge.

Great module, long enough to have fun. I loved the items, subquests, the great detail of the areas and some fights. I missed a more solid main quest. I experienced the same problems that darant. Without Suki in my group (since the rat catcher quest), I couldn´t end the final fight against the wererat, and at the end I couldn´t accept the quest of rescuing the another girl. I suppose that Suki entered in the dialogues and without her the dialogue is broken.
Another problem I've experienced in both modules (Mosshold and Nyth) is that the journal wasn´t updated when I picked important objects. I had to use the console and type rs ga_journal("goblin1",40,0,0,0), (for example), in order to actualize the journal everytime I needed to finished a quest.
Sorry for my english and thanks for the great experience.

Thank you for building and sharing the mod. A few bugs and typos, but a fun mod. Combat takes some thought, which is a strength. Again, thanks for building and sharing with us. Oh...for those of you who want to download it, empty your overrides! I found out the hard way (See previous posts of mine). _________________________ We fight not to enslave, but to set a country free and leave room upon the earth for honest men to live in. Debug Mode fixed it. I'll vote when I'm finished with the module. _________________________ We fight not to enslave, but to set a country free and leave room upon the earth for honest men to live in. Thomas Paine 1776

POSSIBLE SPOILERS**
Possible Bug:
I'm having crash issues with the Goblin Caves after getting the quest to eradicate them, at every attempt to enter it. I've toned down my graphics and the resolution to see if that changes anything, and no dice. In short, it's a game breaker right now. Not sure if anyone else is having that problem. If anyone has a fix, please advise. Thanks. _________________________ We fight not to enslave, but to set a country free and leave room upon the earth for honest men to live in. Thomas Paine 1776

A much more professional and improved module over the first one. Lot's of fun to play. The quests are tied together better and creat a better story line. Combat has a variety of enemies and was reasonalbe. I "Recommend" this to anyone.
Fair enough.. although your age has nothing to do with it I don't think... in your thirties? I wonder now if i'm the oldest gamer on here? haha Thanks for your opinions though. Trouble is everyone wants something different and as you know - you can't please everyone all of the time. Cheers - M.

I see now, having experienced the same conversation enders in another module since. However, I don't understand why so many modules insist on having companions essential to conversations/quests when in all honesty, they're not needed. Not taking a certain companion along shouldn't be a game-breaker, unless that companion is absolutely essential to the main quest of the adventure. My opinion--and believe me I try my hardest to keep companions alive but sometimes the weaker ones fall and then I remove them from the party. Apparently I'm one of the only players of NWN2 alive who does so--probably because I'm in my thirties, and you had no choice in the PnP game.
Hi TikiHat, thanks for your compliments, detailed review and vote - glad you enjoyed it!

Bravo Maglalosus! An Outstanding sequel to AiM. I truly enjoyed your first module, and thought it showed great promise. In your second, you really did step up. While still very much a story-driven work, it did not present itself in the you-must-follow-this-path mode of the first. You allowed enough freedom so that I actually missed the Kobolds part entirely! I figured I had missed something when I found myself carrying someone's head(usually a good hint), so I read the walkthrough after I finished to figure out what.
Combat in this Chapter presented some unique challenges. I brought back my Ranger2/Bard3 for this go round, and finished up as a R2/Bd3/RDD3. Having 2 characters dual-wielding up front with +4 bonuses(Ryu's STR and my DEX) was more than enough to handle any single opponent, but managing the pace so that he didn't exhaust his Barbarian abilities and making sure that I kept baddies of my poor caster got hairy a few times. Curse Song is a wonderful thing in a scrum. You also provided some fresh and interesting adversaries, with the 'masked girls' being my favorite.
I should also commend you for Nyth itself. My knowledge of Canon Realmslore is woefully deficient, but you did an admirable job of depicting what a town on the end of the Golden Way would be like, with the blending of cultures. Ironically, I frequently play characters who carry the katana, but didn't in this setting where it would have been most appropriate. Perhaps in my next play through...
I encountered no bugs in this module. There were two areas where my characters took circuitus detours. One was in the entrance area to Nyth itself near the named guard. The other was in the Big Bad Lady's bedroom. I continuously found myself looping around the couches near the fireplace while searching the room for something I thought I needed. There was one tunnel where viewing in Character Mode from the character's left seemed to cause the skin to be pulled and warped off the underlying model, for lack of a better description, but I haven't cleaned my Override in quite a while so that might very well be on my end. It only happened in the one tunnel.
Overall, this Module is Outstanding. If you were to continue the story and flesh out the NPCs a bit, you might have a masterpiece. I sincerely do hope you continue to create more adventures for us!
Hi darant - the reson for conversations ending abruptly is because you didn't have the whole party with you... Perhaps you tried to do it on your own without taking the party? It does mention this in the description above...
COMPANIONS: There are companions to help you. They will be familiar to you if you've played the first module... Kiro, Suki and Ryu. Make sure you take them, as
some of the module is dependant on having them with you!

*Some spoilers*
I found it excellent, but it needs some work. The same mistakes of the first installation seem to have been repeated as numerous conversations abruptly ended without quests being given. The mage quest in Nyth failed, the conversation with the brother in the sewers ended without a fight--and unfortunately the worst one occurred for the final quest, which made the mod unfinishable. I rescued the girl, she joined my party for some reason afterward and pleaded with me to find her friend--but then the conversation ended without a quest, nor would her handler give one. The warehouse remained locked.
Hi PJ.. thanks for your vote and feedback... The voice overs took hours to do, scrolling through all the sounds etc. Glad you enjoyed it!

Nice one maglalosus, I enjoyed this more that the first, it had more meat on it.
Nice, well balanced, combat and good use of sound on the voiceovers. I realy liked some of the areas especially cave dock.
I got a bit lost at the mid point but picked it back up thanks to the guide you provided.
For my personal preference I would like to see some more convo options but, most of all, more from the npc's, the one liners are good and do fill them out a bit especially where voiced over, but overall they do not seem fleshed out. As a modder myself, I know how much work that is though ....
Good luck with the next project I am looking forward to playing.
@Bardil - thanks for your vote. The waterfalls are funny - sometimes they're ok - other times theyre frozen.
Glad you enjoyed it.

Very nice module. Lots of action and good fun. Continues in the vein of the first module in this series, but with more of a plot to drive the story forward and much more dialogue. Again, the area designs are very good indeed and the available companions are well selected.
No bugs encountered in my run through. Quite a few typos, but nothing so bad as to obscure the intended meaning. I used my level 5 swashbuckler staight from the first module and finished at level 8 (just).
A couple of things to point out that I thought you might like to know about.
1. The waterfalls in the sewers are "frozen". I haven't looked at your module in the toolset, but I'd guess that you may have them set as placeables, in which case they'll look OK in the toolset but will be fozen in the game. They need changing to enviromental objects.
2. In the safe house, there are two crates that are clickable but don't do anything. One is in the entrance hall and one is in the store room.
Thanks for your vote and glad you enjoyed it.. level 7 - I'm thinking maybe you didn't complete all the side quests. QUESTS: There are eight side quests and one main quest (Finding out who the 'Gold Circle' are.)

Just finished it. The only complaint is that I found it to be slightly easy. Played with a rogue that ended up at level 7.

This was solid and absolutely perfect for a Chaotic Good Rogue. Challenging at points, but made it through without dying on the first try. No bugs at all, suprising given it was just posted. One over-powered suit of armour towards the end, but some people really like loot!
