Description
Spawn endless hoards of Storytellers creatures. Watch them in battle, or challenge them yourself!
Dungeon Spawner (DS) is a series of modules, bringing randomly generated dungeons to NWN2.
DS0: Eternal Arena demonstrates the DS encounter system, enabling a single trigger (or clickable object) to generate endless combinations of creatures regardless of character level. A simple example dungeon is included, featuring a random encounter in each room. This is essentially a testing module for DS systems, any feedback on monster balance is very welcome.
True random dungeons will be implemented in DS1: Kismetan Legacy, to be released sometime in January.

Fantastic idea. Will there be any updates to this? It would be great if this were updated to also include the MotB epic rules, new monsters and content. I've played your dungeon spawner for NWN and it was great. I'd love to see this expanded. Keep up the good work!

It looks great, I love the design. But it seems to be tailor to only fighters. Have you looked into putting more spell casters into the arena?
After using the practice dummy, you can't play online. _________________________ When you have to shoot, shoot, don't talk.

this idea in a module would be pretty neat. so it's still very good. _________________________ A Bet, A Corpse A Corpse, A Vote
I’m curious…
Just what would be defined as a good weapon?
Dungeon Spawner weapons are carefully designed and balanced. When the forge is used your equipped weapon is given bonuses based on type. Light weapons (rapier) gain to-hit bonuses, heavy weapons (greatsword) damage bonuses, medium weapons (longsword) get a little of both.
The idea is that different weapons are to be used against various monsters. Kobolds have unbelievably high AC but fewer HP (use a rapier).
Ogres have appalling AC but high HP and regeneration, so a greatsword is a better choice.
Be aware that monster weapons use the same rules, light weapons will hit more often, but a hit from a heavy weapon can ruin your whole day.
To even things out a little for rogues, it’s Dungeon Spawner policy that no monster is immune to sneak attack (even undead).

Good module.
I just had a slight problem with using a rogue. I had to respawn about 6 times just to kill some of the characters. Even after using the forge. It evened out after I reached multiclassed level 5 rogue and level 5 assassin. After that I could actually win without respawning, I still needed henchmen though.
I blame the lack of good weapons. Maybe add some magic weapons, gauntlets, ... with some way to identify them. Good basic arena.
WARNING!
The encounters scale to the level of your character, but cannot scale lower than level 4. Make sure you use the training dummy to increase your level, and always use the forge after any level up.
Thanks Cleitanious,
They're just henchmen, not companions - You're not meant to be able to access their equipment. Did they help your wizard survive?
The low XP is intentional, I would have set it to zero, but getting 0xp messages all the time looks stupid.

My observations of the newest version:
-Very low EXP, for my Level 3 character the generated Goblins only gave 1-4 exp, which is kind of low.
-I also cant find anyway to access your companions

I just toyed around with it for about half an hour and enjoyed it. The arena is very nicely built with the SC tile set and everything works bugless. The scripts for upgrading equipment is very cool, no idea how you managed this O_O
I had figurred out most of the statue stuff myself but thats probably because I know the original stats of my creatures.
and I got killed several times watching arena fights by unengaged archers (*lol) but that doesn't matter.
Cant wait to download the *real* mod - hope it wont take toooo long until then :)
Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing this!

Thanks for the info. Difficulty wise, the mobs did seem to scale OK [those kobolds and goblins were tough for their size!] - was just the XP bit that threw me.
The DS system is a great idea - would be nice to have more varied encounters, but I guess that is limited by the toolset...also only tried it at lev 5.
The mini-dungeon was fun - look forward to DS1: Kismetan Legacy. Will also probably update my score again on this after trying your forthcoming updated version [am trying to stick strictly to the scoring guidelines].
Best-looking interiors I've seen so far in a mod
Thanks Oldtimer, Im surprised and flattered. Its amazing what can be achieved if a module has only one area.
The XP is set very low for killings, as DS modules will give almost all XP for dungeon and quest completion.
All DS encounters scale to your level That is the point of the system.
I had hoped players would enjoy figuring this out themselves:
Clicking the practice dummy gives you enough XP to go up 1 level.
Clicking a small statue generates a single encounter (typically 1-3 monsters based on monster difficulty.)
Clicking the large statue creates a single monster, levelling it to precisely your level.
A quirk of the system is that clicking the large statue results in weaker Stone Lizardmen and Ogres than clicking the small statue.
Ill be releasing a new version soon. It will add henchmen, a couple more of Storytellers monster races, and correct the lack of weapon choice.

Oh one other thing, there doesn't seem to be any warning as to what the training dummy does: +3000 XP per click was a bit of a shock!

Best-looking interiors I've seen so far in a mod - the architecture, lighting, textures and placeables are all very atmospheric.
The random generation system is neat, but usually seems to generate mobs that only give about 5XP each - not sure if this is how it's supposed to be. Are the encounters supposed to automatically scale to your level?
In the arena, does it make any difference which statues you use to trigger encounters? Sort of assumed the larger statue would trigger a tougher encounter, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
Overall though a very interesting and nice-looking mod.

Not too bad but it needs some more items added. I was trying out a dual wield build and there isn't even a dagger to equip.
I think a simple add of all available magic items would be nice.

nfortunately I am at the office between the holydays. But this will be the first thing to do in 2007 (once my head will be clear *gg)! _________________________ In case you find my grammar/spelling weird sometimes -----> native german speaker ;-)
After using the forge try examining the properties of your weapon, armour, ring, amulet and boots. All these will have been enhanced based on your characters current level.
DS1: Kismetan Legacy will have some henchmen but I currently dont know how to add them. With enough encouragement Ill add them to this version as well.
Ive done no testing with wizards or sorcerers, however my level 10 warlock cleared an entire dungeon without resting once.
if the creatures are PWNing you, the author needs to add a few henchmen to this mod.
regardless, it gives me something to do with my tiefling.

Very cool. The only issue I had is that my Wizard character gets owned by these encounters (In the Arena) at any level.
Also the "Forge" doesnt seem to do anything except give me "Leather Boots" "Amulet of natural Armor +1" and a "Ring of Protection +1" _________________________ I believe in science and that science can explain everything,
