Pretty, but lacking on the information front.

Very good video, though not a tutorial, still give good ideas on area making. Well done.

Thanks for sharing. Although I've been building for a long time I enjoyed watching it regardless. _________________________ AP Magical Miscellanea Package (v1.5, over 750 items): Link

I would not class this video as a tutorial, rather a showcase of your skills with the toolset. You created a great looking area, but you did not show what tools where used and how you did it.

Not really a tutorial for using the toolset. But the clips show what modelling steps are required in wich order to get a really good looking area.
If one already knows the tools technically, this shows him how to use them to transform ideas to areas of high quality.

Not really a tutorial but I must confess I like it for it shows what is possible to beginners and how anyone can start out to produce quality settings. _________________________ ========================

I know a few short cuts because he isent responding for the ones that dont know.
CTRL + Left Click draging in a diraction = Moving
CTRL + Shift + Left Click up/down = Moving your center up/down
ALT + Left click draging up/down =
ajusting hight
ALT + Shift + Right Click moving left/right = Spining the select object.
this are the things i have found out and I think
ALT + Right click = rotating arount screen.
but not sure i got 5 keys on my mouse so i use the 5th to do it =]
hope someone got any use on this.

@Kroax
You don't like taking a wild stab in the dark to a techno beat?
Guess that made dating in the 90's a little difficult.

A very nice set of videos to show the potential of the NWN2 toolset, but calling it a tutorial is probably somewhat of a stretch. Granted, there were quite a few tricks you used there that I probably wouldn't had thought of otherwise, but these videos does nothing to show us HOW and WHAT you used to make the things you did.
Having a voiceover/descriptive text as well as a full view of the entire toolset (including what tools you're using) would help a lot.
As for the music, well... I wasn't too fond of it, but each to their own I guess. Pressing the "mute" button quickly fixed that problem. ;) But if you're/someone is going to make a voiceover, removing music alltogether would probably be a good idea. :)

Everything looked fantastic! Great work ... and fast too lol. A voiceover or showing the toolset windows as you worked would have been a help but for the most part I could follow which tool you were using with only a few "How'd he do that?" wonderings. However, my biggest question isn't about what you did ... but about how you were scrolling!!! I cannot for the life of me scroll in my toolset. I can tilt, zoom, and rotate ... but i can't move left, right, up or down! I saw in yours you were just scrolling like a madman! Could you please tell me how in the world you are doing this? lol. Cause I am at a loss. Thanks in advance.

This really needs some sound and explanation for it to be classed as a tutorial. While its wonderful to have a video showing everything, without a talk through this is only going to add further confusion and perhaps even intimadate new builders.
Out of interest, from start to finish how long did this area take to build?
Posted by banderwocky at 2006-10-11 09:18:36 Voted 8.00 on 10/11/06
very impressive and inspiring. i to would ask for a break down of the short cuts keys you used in this. i find i spend too much time fiddling with the sliders (which is frustraiting at times). so please, keep up the great work and share your shortcuts!
cheers

It great but can you put a manule out withs buttons and how you can do all thet stuff....

I thought the videos were great. Voiceover or showing the tools would have been helpful but I realize how much work it is to put something like this together. Anyway, it really helped me on a few things because mostly I could work out what tools you were using. I do have one question. A couple of times when you were tinting something (for instance when you were tinting the lights to match the window colors) it looked like you were using an eyedropper to select a color from the window. Were you? If so how do you do that? I don't see it on the color palette.
You should post the area in the videos as a prefab. Thanks again. Nice work.

Afraid I have to echo what NWNmaster said. This didn't really come across as a tutorial. Having a voice-over accompanyment would have been much more beneficial. _________________________ View my blog regarding the Relbonian Chronicles project --> Link

I would not class this video as a tutorial, rather a showcase of your skills with the toolset. You created a great looking area, but you did not show what tools where used and how you did it.
You may of got away with it showing your toolbars as we could have worked out what tools you were using at the time and also work out what textures you were mixing.
If you released this video with a voice over of what you were doing you would have definately got a 10....
Music was a 10 too :D
Posted by Drucinda at 2006-10-10 22:26:11 Voted 5.00 on 10/10/06
The area you created is fabulous and a 10 but I gave 5 rating based on the tutorial. The video is great, but it's rather dark in some places (other than the night time views) and hard to see and it would have helped I think to give a naration of which tools you were using over the cool music :)
