We've got a preview of the Hive Ward in a new trailer on our website (and soon to be on the Vault as well).
The trailer depicts a variety of cutscenes you will encounter, characters you will interact with and areas you will explore in the Hive Ward in the first act of Purgatorio campaign.
Four potential party companions are depicted in the trailer, we'll leave it to you guys to figure out which ones.
The trailer is large, so downloading it will take a little time. If you prefer to save it to your hard drive, you can right-click and save as, rather than waiting for it to load into the embedded player.
There is no voice-over as of yet, because we haven't gotten to the post-production part of the process.
All of the in-game cutscenes will be fully voiced-over in the finally released campaign.
The graphics settings have to be kept pretty low for full motion screen capture, so, depending on your system specs, the content will look substantially better in-game.
The two tracks in the trailer are by Rogue Dao composers Kevin "Gopher" Chow and OldBrian.
If anyone has any questions about the content of the trailer, the processes used to produce it, or just about the Purgatorio campaign in general, I'd be glad to answer them on our forums.
Tea Street is a bohemian district in the Hive Ward. Once known primarily for Tea Street Transit, the area is now bustling with activity since the opening of the Lolla Tradler Signer Theater, the Athar Pantheon and the Dancing Corpse Circus.
The Mortuary.
Headquarters of the Dustmen, the Mortuary sits in one of the ward's dreariest sections, a neighborhood of empty streets and abandoned shops. The building's a cluster of windowless vaults [ Note: Not yet available in the screenshots ] arranged around a large dome.
Now and then, the Dustmen mount skulls on sticks and post them around the Mortuary to make a fence. Where do they get the skulls? From tresspassers, of course. Wicked spines radiate from the center of the Mortuary, giving the building the appearance of an immense insect.
How to get inside the Mortuary? Garnishes or bluffs might work. Resourceful berks might try to sneak in or play dead.
The best bet, of course, is to be dead.
The Ditch is just about the only thing resembling a river in the whole city. And by resembling a river, we mean it is an open sewer filled with unspeakable vileness that snakes its way through some of the worst gangland in the Hive.
We've had a registration-bug of sorts with the Rogue Dao forums for the past 24 hours or so. If you've come by the forums and tried to register, and were unable to, you will be able to do so now.
-- On the trailer editing, it's certainly not as polished as I'd like it to be, but every minute I spent working on it was a minute I couldn't spend working on actual Purgatorio content/areas/etc. So at a certain point you've just got to say, good enough, when it comes to stuff that won't increase the enjoyability of the module.

This is a trailer that shows some truly interesting visuals. Makes me really look forward to the campaign.
The trailer video itself could be a little better edited though. _________________________ E.C.Patterson Gaming Parents Studios
Probably because the guy near the Mortuary isn't quite as attractive as Kylie :P
The Mortuary guy is the fellow that says: "I know one way you can get into the Mortuary, cutter. But I'm not sure you'll like it."
His appearance is a reskin of one of the non-dynamic appearances (Aldanon I think), and the angle on the shot doesn't actually give you a great view of the changes. He's got the Dustman faction logo on his robes and on a chain around his neck, and the coloring of his clothing, skin, hair, etc. is different.

Hmmmmmmmmmm how come I noticed the tiefling and not the guy near the Mortuary :)
It looks like you guys are doing a great job. I'm eagerly awaiting the results of your hard work. Great atmosphere, interesting looking characters, and hints of an intriguing story (nice music, too). A great trailer. Thanks!
The tiefling does indeed have a custom look, as does the fellow standing in front of the Mortuary near the end.

Loved the feel of this trailer! To me it feels like you have truly captured the essence of Planescape. I've been checking your website almost daily to keep abreast of any new details on the development of this series. I will echo what others have posted here, I can't wait for this to released! :)

This has really got me excited. Somehow the Hive seems to be really alive and -real-. I can't wait to try out this module! The Planescape Setting has always been a favourite of mine and this promises a really great Planescape Experience. Solid 9 so far.

Very promising.
There's a uniqueness to this which permeates the entire trailer, a deeply embedded culture that's been well implemented and feels exotic without trying too hard.
With some good dialogue and nice gameplay mechanics, something that's already looking this impressive could well end up being as good as the main campaign itself.
First impressions net an 8.5, I'm looking forward to this.

Really great trailer, and a very promising campaign. It's great to see that you're making an effort to capture the irreverance of the Hive. Looking forward to playing it in a few months! -B _________________________ My NWN Blog FRW Character Creator
