XP_Craft is no longer a PROTOTYPE plugin for nwnx4.
It's a gentely working nwnx4 plugin along with a whole script system, dialog and UI, in order to let online players craft their equipments.
What's New with this new release :
This new version (currently 1.0) main dedication is esthetic crafting.
In short words it enables the same amount of customisation on items In game than you got with the toolset.
You can change The VisualArmorType (Cloth, leather, half plate...), the Variation and the 3 Tints of every equipable item.
You can also change your armor parts (shoulder, bracers...) and their 3 Tints.
(However there's one exception ; you cannot deal with "fake equipement" such as boots, cloak, belt, cloak and helmet that are "built" on an armor (or clothe) using the "HasBoots", "HasBelt".... switch.)
And you can change your weapon modelparts and colors.
This fills a void left in NWN2 where player can't even change the way they look.*sigh*
Requirements :
nwnx4 1.8 or above installed and working.
what's in the pack ? :
you'll find
-> this readme file..
-> the xp_craft.dll (aka the nwnx4 plugin for esthetic crafting)
-> the xp_craft_ui.hak (containing the color change UI and a small (but useful) tga image)
-> the demo module for nwn2 classic (also works on motb of course)
-> the system erf to include into you own module
-> an erf containing the 3d models lists for nwn2 classic (to be included in your module if you're running nwn2 classic)
-> an erf containing the 3d models lists for nwn2-motb (to be included in your module if you're running nwn2-motb)
Thanks :
To Papillon for his wonderful and couldn't-live-without NWNX4
To Obsidian for not having made a working CopyItemAndModify function
To everyone at Elechos pw for taking all my life time.
To Tyrnis, my co-worker on Elechos scripts
To Drakolight for pushing me to keep on the work around this project.
To the ones who laughed saying I was dumb to think these things were actually possible.
To the ones that have been patient enough to wait for this system, thought this could have been released much sooner.

ps : I'm sorry that i kept you waiting for this so long...
And unfortunately, i didn't achieve the level of explanation i wanted to give.
So even if the basic system is easily useable on any pw, customisation of the scripts etc.. will be somewhat hard...
I also know that despite all the explantions, some of you will have a hard time dealing with the lists of your hakpack's 3d models. So i'll stay around and give some advices.
This thing has been heavily tested on both nwn2-classic and nwn2-motb servers.
However, there might be some bugs left, so feel free to spot them along wih details 'bout how it happend, so i can fix them.
This console application creates list files by scanning your zips and haks in order to ease your task in bringing more esthetic crafting opportunities to your players.
01/24/08 Updated Tyrnis's ModelLister with a new build.
03/03/08 : Since a quitted nwn2 (along with my fellow builders ;) ) I let you the source that does the trick.
It comes as it is, no warranties of any kind.
some files are from the nwnlib sources. the "plugin" and "craft" files are for nwnx4, and in between you'll find the "hierarchyControler" which does the things.
Enjoy.

This may be my favorite content on the entire vault. The customization is tremendous. Without this characters all start to look the same. Since I have hundreds of characters, I really appreciate the diversity this brings.

Also asking: Does anyone know of a workaround to prevent duping? Some gameworlds are reluctant to use this otherwise outstanding system because of duping.

First, I would like to say I love this plugin, with all our custom clothes and weapons models (90% of the vaults releases, we include everything in out 3.7GB of haks), after I put in all 1000 numbers into the scripts, this thing is incredible. Every single player is wearing something unique, every weapon looks different, its simply awesome with our custom stuff.
Small issue:
When I load the module, which is 1.6GB (900MB without TRNs) I get the mod running at 900MB in memory, and a 1.05GB page file.
Once someone uses the wand, it jumps to 1.8GB in memory, and a 2.10GB page file.
Although I have no lag (3.0GHZ Dual Core Zeon, 6GB RAM, etc), I do wonder if there is a way to prevent this, if it is a bug, and so on . . _________________________ Talernon3 - Age of Dragons Link

Thanks. It's nice to be able to change my characters' looks again (a la NWN1). _________________________ "Audentes fortuna iuvat" - Fortune favors the brave

Fantastic work! Finally got around to getting it working and released in my persistant world (nwnhaven.com).
Do seem to be a couple of bugs but otherwise amazing.
Oh and wish I could change and effect the Belt on the armor clothes.
Truly impressed, again, just short of perfect, very happy with it.

Why this wonderful tool isn't in Hall of Fame?
Here my vote. You make my pw players happy! :)

This system definitly is a really good system for making your characters look the way you want them to look. Your CE orc found an armor of uberness? but its colored pink?! no fear this can help you make it all spiky and black!

Easily installed if you already have NWNX and it looks easy to add without having to worry about the rest of the functionality even if you dont. Well documented with lots of comments in in the scripts, very nicely done. First thing I do after joining a server with this or acquiring a new piece of armor is fix up my gear for my own unique appearance. _________________________ LotR: Heroes of the Third Age

Seriously a must have. Thank you so much Carter. Sorry to see you have dropped it, though. Great to post your code for the community. I'm also disappointed for the no HoF rating. Hopefully it will get there. _________________________ LotR: Heroes of the Third Age

Someone finally did it, thx a lot.
I just tried it and it works great, only worried about possible explots, we'll see. _________________________ Reino de Aldor
That's too bad you're quitting. Really would've liked to see this plugin direct the xpcraft database to an actual table in MySQL, instead of bioware's crappy file in the profile folder...

Just watched the video and it seems to be really really great! I've made something similar for NWN1 (without NWNX because in NWN1 there is a 'working CopyItemAndModify') and I was very disapointed that it wasn't possible to make a NWN2 version.
Unfortunately I guess this won't work for single player modules.
