I made an attempt at restoring the Nimbre situation in Obsidian's expansion Storm of Zehir.
Now you can convince the captain to let the villagers go if you find evidence that there is a traitor living in their village.
Additionally this restores the Inquisitive Pig.
Installation: Extract the folder "nimbre" into your override folder. You can leave the folder structure intact.
You *may* have to start a new game if you've been to Nimbre before. You *must* start a new game if you've been in the loremaster's house before.
Spoilers: Spot 8 will let you notice the loremaster's snake tattoo. He then proceeds to attack you. Two cultists will join the battle (not terribly difficult).
On the loremaster's body you will find a certain scroll which you can show to the captain outside.
The villagers won't be terribly thankful, though...
As far as the pig is concerned, just speak to it.
I didn't start a new game then tried. The loremaster wouldn't drop the suspicious scroll(just a snake ring, an armor, and another item (quarterstaff?). I'll try it next time once I start a new game.

Thanks for restoring the quest, without it exploring Nimbre looks like a waste of time.

Excellant fix to the programmer's poor decisions to cut this little quest set. They might as well have cut Nimbre from the whole game. Anyways, I found it's "sorta" compatible with version 1.22. The action happens, but I wasn't getting the scroll??? So, I hilt ~, DebugMode 1 (ENTER), RunScript i_g_yuanti_scroll_aq (ENTER), DebugMode 0 (ENTER), ~ and voila! The journal updated and everything works fine from there.

A great fix for a game-breaking bug! Please note that the player doesn't need to start a "new" game if the player's talked to the Loremaster in Nibre. Rather, the player can load up a saved game from prior to talking with the Loremaster.
I read that Obsidian is unlikely to patch this bug, which means that this fix is absolutely necessary if you want to play out all the options for the Nimbre encounter.

So, is Obsidian sending you their next bug-filled adventure?
Thank you :) _________________________ Where the World Once Stood

I didn't want to restart the game so used the above file Kaldor added, trouble is the Loremaster doesn't drop the scroll. Could you give the scroll item code so I can add it via debug mode?
Cheers,
Daniel.

Note that if you let the troops go before talking to the Loremaster, there doesn't seem to be anything you can do about the situation. And the journal entry therefore won't clear.

The "inquisitive pig" spawns in the boar pen. It's not a boar, but an actual pig. If you look at the area with the toolset, there are several waypoints in the boar pen, one of which is the spawn point for the dirt mound.
The pig itself does not have a spawn point so I place it "somewhere close" to the dirt mound. It should look at the mound while squeaking and moving its head.
The location for the pig might vary a bit every time, but according to my tests it should always be close to the dirt mound.
I've added a screenshot that shows the location of the pig.

Great little mod, does just what it should; it's good to have that Nimbre encounter resolved.
Question though: where is the inquisitive pig and how do I talk to it? From the console commands I can see that there is some sort of trigger in the boar pen, but I'm not good enough with the toolset to figure out what the trigger is or how to make it go off. I've tried talking to the boars with a ranger, druid, and all the rest of my party with no results. What am I doing wrong? Is the inquisitive pig somewhere else?
Thanks!

I figured there was something odd going on here. He seemed guilty at the mention of his 'weathered skin'. Thank you for restoring this little quest here.
