This might seem as nitpicking to some, but a personal pet peeve of mine with NWN2 has always been how creature movement and fighting animations looked. Initially, I had hoped to change these animations, but in the process of analysing the issue, I realised that a major part of it seemed related to values that could easily tweaked through 2das.
First of all, combat, to me, felt too cluttered, with foes standing practically on your toes, seeming more like wrestling than what distance you would have when swinging and dodging swords. Part of what this package does is increasing the combat reach and personal space slightly.
Second, running animations seem a bit off too, and the second part of this tweak is to increase it slightly.
Installation and use:
Extract to your override folder. If you only want to use the combat distance tweak, only extract the baseitems.2da and the appearance.2da, and if you only want to use the movement tweak, only extract the creaturespeed.2da.
Feel free to use this, tweak and redistribute it as you like, as long as you give credits to this original package.
Feedback is much appreciated, hope you will enjoy!
Version history:
0.1 - First release.
0.2 - Minor update slightly increasing CREPERSPACE value (the personal space of a creature where it will block other creatures from moving).
Sometimes they gang up to a degree that you wonder how they can even make a swing without hitting the guy next to them rather than in front of...
Without the mod, the creatures tend to gang up and stand so close that it seems more like wanting to wrestle and push rather than punch a sword through the chest of the opponent.
... and sometimes, they even seem to pass through each other.
... or have enough room to make a proper swing...
With this mod, it starts to feel a bit more right...
... like if people are actually worried about dodging that 6 feet axe the other guy is holding...
... a very proper swing!
... something you'd want to brace yourself against...

Makes alot of difference in game, and while not exactly to every taste, its a good ground work for making even more tweaks.

A nice little tweak indeed. I especially like how it makes positioning even more important in combat. And helps actually physically block access to weaker party members.

A must have.

I like the idea a lot.
Unfortunately for me I had to do manual edits to implement the idea due to already existing 2da edits of my own.
One small complaint is that PC's keep bumping each even when they are a little ways apart. I chose to eliminate the +.2 boost to CREPERSPACE for all player races. _________________________ Co-founder of the PW (open beta) Sea of Dragons. Hiya!
That's simple awesome! Seriously, you have no idea how annoying it is for me when combat look more like aggressive group hugging. Well done!

This is really nice. I'd like to include it in my pack, if you don't mind. _________________________ Mastery is the final form of madness.

While it's far from "realistic", it does look and play nicer. Good job.

Fantastic, it makes a huge difference from the default settings. It feels more believable and looks better with this.

I consider this more of a bug fix than a mod. There's really no excuse for it when the issue didn't exist in e.g. KotOR 2.
Thanks for fixing it.

I really like the effect of this mod in increasing realism. However I find my familiars and other small creatures take up too much personal space, and it increases general "jam-up" when trying to get people to move through doorways. But even that like it or not is an effect of increasing the realism.
