The CharacterBuildCalculator for NWN2 (CBC2) is an Excel Sheet that allows to create character builds for NWN2 fast and easily. You just select your (sub)race, your class (or classes) and the order in which you want your character to level-up. Then the CBC2 tells you at which level your character gains a feat (regular/bonus) and what class feats you get. Also the CBC2 calculates yor BAB, number of attacks, hitpoints, saving throws and skillpoints.
If you take a feat or if you advance in a prestige class the CBC2 tells you if you actually are allowed to do that. And if not it tells you what's required to take the feat/class.
Version 1.01: Added Character Background Feats (Bully, Farmer, Tale Teller,...), Wizard Spell Schools, some bug fixing.
Version 1.02: Improved Skill per Level output on output tab, bug fixing (cleric domain feats missing when not starting cleric at char level 1, number of skill points for very low INT chars).
Version 1.04: Added combat calculations (part I: AB calculations), updated to 1.04.
Version 1.06: Updated to 1.06.
Version 1.10: Updated to 1.10, Mask of the Betrayer, Practised Spellcaster fixed, deities added.
Version 1.10.1: Minor bug fixes, some changes to make it more compatible with Open Office.
Version 1.10.2: Some bug fixes (Great Smiting feats, spell casting prestige classes, skill feats).
Version 1.10.3: Minor bug fixes (BAB calculation not working properly when using Open Office).
Version 1.10.4: More bug fixing (Open Office compatibility)
Version 1.10.5: Even more bug fixing (Open Office compatibility)
Version 1.11: Bug fixing (Clerics can't take hellball, great ability feats and spell-casting, arcane trickster sneak attack prerequisite, deities and alignment), update to NWN2+MotB 1.11
Version 1.11.1: Fixed Deathless Vigor (+4 fortitude instead of HP bonus)
Version 1.12: Update to NWN2+MotB 1.12
Version 1.12.1: Fixed total sneak attack damage (sneak atack damage from Frantic Reactions was missing)
Version 1.12.2: Fixed Frantic Reactions (was giving a +2 bonus to lore/spellcraft)
Version 1.13.1: Fixed AB calculation (some Weapon Focus feats did not give the proper AB bonus)
Version 1.21.1: CBC2 now supports NWN2 1.21 (SoZ)
Version 1.21.2: Major bug fixing: Bonus feat lists, doomguide bonus feats.
Version 1.21.3: Bug fixing (doomguide spell progression, new 1.21 background feats)
Version 1.22.1: CBC2 now supports NWN 1.22
Version 1.22.2: Bug fixing (warlock bonus feat imbue item was missing)
Version 1.23.1: Updated to NWN2, 1.23, bug fixing
Version 1.23.2: Bug fixing (spells per day)
Version 1.23.3: Big fixing (steadfast determination)
I don't think Steadfast Determination is working correctly. If that is chosen, shouldn't the CON modifier instead of WIS modifier be used for Will saves?

Hi, Kamiryn, thank you for your reply.
Both cbc and cbc2 are excellent work, when I am playing NWN or NWN2, I always use them to record my characters and also npc companions, it`s just like I keep the memory and the growth trajectory.
There were websites to build quickly, but I prefer the Excel way, at least we can learn some Excel skills. :P
thanks for the bug report. I will upload a new version most likely tomorrow.
As for the other questions. All (or most of) the things were definitely planned but were not implemented because of two reasons:
a) CBC2 already is really slow and more features will make it even slower.
b) Unfortunately I lacked the motivation to add them, sorry. I liked (and still like sometimes) playing NWN1 but NWN2 never really was 'my game'. So I played the OC, I played MotB but while I've bought SoZ I actually never played it.
And so I still fix reported bugs but there won'
t be any new features, at least not from my side.

"spells per day" will not be correct if the character has a feat whose cbc_id is less than 1115.
because the default match_type of the match functions used in "intern_spell3!B12:B51" is 1.
cbc has many useful information such as spell dc calculation, bard song and ac(also Angelis Dania mentioned),why not use them in cbc2?
New version 1.23.1. Saving throw bonuses from durability feat added (hope the feat does what its description says).

My bad. I saw Devastating Critical Warmace in the epic feat list in the CBC2 spreadsheet and thought MotB added it to the OC game.
Devastating Critical is in the 2da_Feat worksheet so I suppose it may be available to someone who wants to include it in their own module but not in the Original Campaign.
@cyberjack07: As far as I know (and unless it has changed with 1.23) there's no Devastating Critical in NWN2. And while it's possible to take DC Warmace in NWN2 it doesn't work - so it's just a (NWN2) bug.

I am trying to build a character with Devastating Critical kukri. The only D.C. weapon shown on the drop down list is warmace.
I down loaded the CBC file twice, thinking I may have gotten a corrupt copy, but I get the same result.
One question though, I tried a Deep Gnome build and the Durability feat saving throw bonus is not being added in. Is this a intentional? Maybe I misunderstood the feat, but I though it granted a +2 bonus to all savings throws. I checked the feat list and didn't see it listed there.

Essential tool for character build design! Thank you very much!
thanks for your comments. There is no AC calculation in CBC2. Sorry. As for skill based requirements, you can switch (somewhere on the first sheet) between 'soft' skill checks and 'hard' skill checks. 'Soft' skill checks take into account the maximal possible skill ranks only. The actually spended skill ranks are ignored.

Just noticed something relatively minor.
It seems that if your character does not meet the skill-based requirements of a class, the spreadsheet does not complain or show an error, or make the class abbreviation in column B turn red. I tested this for RW by putting no ranks into spellcraft and also tested it for RDD by putting no ranks into lore.
I seem to recall CBC1 taking skill-based requirements into account. I'm not sure if this has been made intentionally different for CBC2 or if it hasn't been implemented yet or if it was forgotten.
Thanks.

Am I going blind or does the spreadsheet not calculate and display Armor Class (AC)?
I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Sorry if this has been mentioned.

10/10 Kamiryn you are a legend. Thank you for this masterful tool.
@Yluriyen
This spreadsheet allows you to design a character for whatever purpose you have in mind in a quick and easy way, and provides you with statistics for comparison.
I'm not sure what you mean in your post, but for each class level, any class-feats are entered for you automatically. You have the freedom to change ability and skill points around as well as race, feats and classes to see how many levels of each class you should take and where.
I can't think of any other way but trial and error to achieve this if you don't have a solid and comprehensive knowledge of all the features and rules. But after using this spreadsheet, you will be a lot more knowledgeable and will find it easier over time to design well built characters.
At any rate, you can always refer to the wiki or manual while you design your character.
I have to be honest - I have no idea why this spreadsheet would be useful. Please enlighten me because I'm probably just not using it right.
What I want to be able to do is look at all of the abilities that each class gets at each level, and be able to cross reference that quickly with the the starting statistics, etc. and characteristics of that class. In being able to do this, I will be able to see how many levels of each class I should take and what order I should take them in.
But what this spreadsheet appears to do is only tell you what stats, etc. you will have only after you what class you want to be at a certain level. In other words, you have to basically know what classes you want to play beforehand, or find out by trial and error by inputting it into the spreadsheet and having it tell you that it's not possible or you'll lose BAB or whatnot.
Thank you maoliyuanjiu. New version has been uploaded.

Only thing missing from this is a version with support for Kaedrin's PrC pack. ;)

Sorry about the Aasimar comment, I noticed after I posted. I see now that I tried to select EWS:Waraxe as DC bonus feat, which obviously doesn't work. Yeah, well, that's what I get for trying new classes and races.
Rated 10 btw.

Great work on this. Never have been any good at character builds so this has already improved my game immensely. Did notice there was no Epic weapon focus or specialization for falchions though.
Aasimar problem: if you're scandinavia you have enable the work-around on the content page. See readme.txt for more informations.
EWS: Dwarven Waraxe: seems to work fine here. What do you mean by 'I can't choose EWS Dwarven Waraxe'? The feat should always be selectable. If it's just 'red' what is the error message (column CT)?

Excellent work. Aasimar is still bugged though. When chosen, it comes up as Yuan-Ti. I can't choose EWS Dwarven Waraxe either, is that a game bug, or CBC 2 bug? Thanks very much for this spreadsheet.
