SafeSave is a small plug-in that makes it easy to backup your module in an alternative file/directory, instead of just saving it to the same location (which increases the chance for corruption).
When used, one of two things will happen. If the last character of your module files' name is a digit, it will be incremented and saved. If there is no digit, then a "1" will be pasted onto the title of the module.
Example:
I am making the module test. When I use SafeSave, it will be saved as test1. When I use SafeSave again I will save a new file called test2, and so on.
The same applies to directories.
You can now use a shortcut (which you can change in the options menu) to backup your module.

Installation:
The installation is the same as for all other plug-ins. However, if you are in doubt, try reading this page
The plug-in has been updated to 1.21 - the latest patch as per November 18th - 2008

Indeed, a very interesting and useful system. Just started using this, and am glad I've done so. The plug-in prevents the occasional crashes to delete unsaved data, and makes sure everything remains safe.
Thank you for addition to support directories, as I do not use Modules.
I have tried to make some minor adjustments to make sure that it is parsed correctly (mainly so that the code is parsed independently of the choice of language/nationalization preferences etc).
If you are still having problems, could you please send me a screen-shot of the error msg, your system specs (OS type and language would be essential) and a list of things you did before this happened (I know you said it used to work fine - I am not doubting that it did) no matter how trivial it was.
Thank you.

I'm having an odd bug with this recently (used to work fine) - I get an error message when using it, to the effect that it can't find the directory. The directory it is trying to find is in my NWN2 install directory, as oppossed to the NWN2/modules directory in My Documents. _________________________ NWN Campaigns - the NWN/NWN2 Campaign Database Naeldor Weekly Campaign

Thanks for the 1.12 update. Use this plugin daily, which is saying something, as there's only 1 other plugin I can claim to do the same with.

I have to give this a 10 - I've been looking for a plugin like this since NWN2 was released. Awesome. _________________________ NWN Campaigns - the NWN/NWN2 Campaign Database Naeldor Weekly Campaign

Was 9, now 9.5.
I use this regularly now, and I love it.
Great idea, well executed, and truly a must have.

Love your directory update.
Good work, and thanks for accommodating us directory types.

Awesome idea. Agreed that if you get this working with directories, this will be a must-have plugin. _________________________ NWN Campaigns - the NWN/NWN2 Campaign Database Naeldor Weekly Campaign
