Also frustrated when a new version of the toolset is released?
Getting tired of downloading the plugin versions, that takes ages to be released for the new version?
I yes, then this is something for you!
Get de-frustrated with this config file!
It's not so much of a plugin, but it'll make your current plugins work together with the newer version of the toolset.
The only thing you have todo is to fill in the newer vesion of the mentioned dll's (when a new version of the toolset ois released) in the file and off you go.
The attached file will make the plugins work with the 1.0.1295.0 version of the toolset.
Put it in the same directory where the NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe is located.
(in my case its C:\Program Files\Atari\Neverwinter Nights 2)
Curious how it works: it used the .NET assembly redirection to force the plugins to use a specified version of the toolset dll's.
Although I tried both sets of directions and have the file succesfully in my NWN2 root directory (where my toolset exe is located) and even though I changed the version info on the three dll's as directed, I still could not get this thing to open toolset with treerandomizer. Toolset rejects it as an older version and suggests checking for updates. I was using the 1.22 version that is updated here on the vault.

Better usage instructions:
1/ Download the config file and put it directly into your Nwn2 folder.
2/ Open the file with a text editor. To do so, right-click on it, choose Open with and pick notepad in the list, or if it's not here, click on Choose program... and pick notepad there..
3/ What you get is the code for a tiny XML configuration file. Find in this gibberish the three occurencies of newVersion=.
The first one is the version of the file OEIShared.dll, the second one is for SandBar.dll and the last is for NWN2Toolset.dll. All three files are in your Nwn2 folder too.
4/ Get the versions of these three DLL files. To do so, right-click on them > Choose Properties > Version tab. Copy the number you see (example : 1.0.1588.0).
5/ Replace the version numbers in the NWN2ToolsetLauncher.exe.config file with the ones you just found.
6/ Save. Done !
Important Note : Be aware that using not updated plugins might cause important bugs in the Toolset, as the Toolset is often modified with patches. So :
- If you encounter some bugs in the Toolset, get the updated versions of all your plugins and remove the ones that are not recompiled for the last patch before reporting the issues.
- When you patch the game, if you read in the patch notes that the Toolset has been modified, update your plugins.

It wooooorks !!! Bye bye downloading 10 plugins every patch !
Too bad the instructions are missing a lot for most people to get it to work (though it's really simple when you know what to do). And the name of the plug-in is not self-explanatory, you should change it to something like "Old plugins loader" or "Load unmaintained plugins"...

Awesome piece of code. Got some older plugins I used to work again. RDRItemcreator works again, which I really liked compared to the standard in toolset. Thanks for the config file.
for the new version make the following change:
change every new version occurence into
newVersion="1.0.1549.0" _________________________ A Land Far Away.

Ok, I figured it out myself, but I'll put it here, for all other noobs: the string to replaces 1295 with is 1407, and you can always see it when the toolset loads, on the splash screen :)

Ths is great.. bt one question, to anyone who knows, from a noob... what should I put there to make it work with 1.13?
Huh? I don't get it. I double click it. Dos opens and I can't type. Will it work in Vista? I tried opening as admin still nothing. Would like to get it to work....

Just want to warn everyone to be careful with this. Using old plugins can cause trouble. To be safe, I wouldn't let your plugins be more than a version behind. Definately update them if you see toolset changes in the patch notes.
Then you can fix it yourself.
Just replace 1.0.1295.0 (in the config file, content listed below) with the new toolset version and its done.

So far so good. The .config will detect all old version of plugins in my directory. The only plugin I have trouble is the SinPlugin.dll.(manually did not work too).
How will I do this here..."The only thing you have todo is to fill in the newer vesion of the mentioned dll's (when a new version of the toolset ois released) in the file and off you go. '... on the next patch update?
I agree, it's the most ingenious idea to easing the use of the toolset.
I'll try it too.

Looks excellent. Will use this, and see how it goes with future updates. Should this work as mentioned, then I am sure this is a tool that simply cannot be missed due to the slow continuation of some authors. Thank you!
