Flip is a visual language plugin that makes it easy for people without programming skills to script events.

The plugin works with patch 1.23 and requires .NET 3.5 Service Pack 1 or greater to run.

This plugin interfered with the toolset badly - until it was removed I could not do anything after loading a module.

Hi sirchet,

I'm sorry to hear you've had these problems too. Thanks for running these tests and letting us know what you found. I'm afraid it sounds likely that you're right. Our developer isn't around for me to check for sure, but the contexts Flip was originally designed for involve people starting new modules from scratch with the plugin installed, so it's possible that he built in some features that assume this to be the case.

I hope that you will continue to find Flip to be of use when creating new areas.

After more testing I have come to the conclusion that the Flip scripting system will work only on areas created with the Flip system installed during creation.

Removing the Flip files from the toolset folder allows me to open any area, but with the Flip back in place I can only open areas I have created with Flip installed.

I tried importing a pre-fab area into a module I built with Flip installed and I could not open the area I imported without suffering a ctd when the area is loading in the tool-set. I could open the other areas in the module that I had created with Flip installed, but not the imported areas.

katyhowland,

I too am experiencing the same problem with the tool-set crashing when attempting to open an area.
I have narrowed it down though.

Myself I like to use areas from the OC and strip them down and add to them to make what I want. It seems the only areas that have the crashing problem are these from the OC, when removing the "Flip" files from the Plug-ins folder the crashing ends.

I sure hope you can solve this issue for I have become rather addicted to your fantastic, "scripting for simpletons" tool. :)

Please feel free to contact me if you want a copy of any of the areas or anything else.

Sorry to hear about the problems you've found Natala. I've replied to your email. If you can send any futher information you have about the error, that would be appreciated.

I found a rather nasty bug in your wonderful system. When I installed your plug-in, many of my areas began crashing upon loading, the problem only solved itself after I removed your plug-in. I did several tests and it is this plug-in that makes my toolset crash. It's a shame since I'm somebody who would really benefit from this. I wont give you a vote at the moment, please look into it.

Wonderful, with the override files in place it works as described.

I would also suggest that you allow for the selection of the entire party for events instead of just the player.

Great idea, but when I attempt to save a script it says it's missing a script in the override please install flip again.

What should I do to fix this?

I have one major suggestion: Allowing the program to scan your module blueprints and have the builder be able to create blocks based on blueprint rather than objects in an open area.

This is just what I was hoping for!!

I'm going to try it right now.

I'll vote once I have formed an opinion.
