Awesome job. Love the lighting, too. I used this in my weekly campaign, and it worked perfectly. _________________________ NWN Campaigns - the NWN/NWN2 Campaign Database Naeldor Weekly Campaign

It's amazingly well made, and if one doesn't use it at least it will serve as a great inspiration! You can't go wrong with this one!

Excellent work for a tavern!
I really like the custom home feel of the thing and I'm thinking it will serve nicely as the Sneaky Feats Tavern located in Riverside. The vote is about as high as I think possible for a pre-fab tavern - simply limited by scope of project.

I like it! Definitely a "need" in the prefab area. One can never have enough different types of Tavern's.
My character seems to have a problem "transition" from the upstairs to the main floor. Not sure why. I feally like the design of the upstairs area--very nice variety.
Thanks for taking the time to look at it and comment!
Yes, fairly generic and useful was the intent (perhaps I'll make a Tavern_002). It's mostly the reason why I didn't bother to populate it or include a working innkeeper. Taverns are the hub of adventure and if I can save a module creator some time or offer ideas through it, I've reached my goal.
This area started as a 3-area module until I realized why people were creating buildings with floor transitions all in the same area. So, after condensing with much grouping and pasting, the rogue door was overlooked. :)
I had originally planned on putting a firepit-like creation in the center. I had in mind a couple images of tavern life that depicted a grouping of characters around the firepit as a central theme. The flaming, over-sized flowerpot wasn't working for me. After trying grouping the single fireplaces, it looked pretty good to me, so I rolled with it. Anyway, it can be quickly replaced with your choice of central theme.
I wanted the fireplace upstairs to be connected to the same chimney system, thus the placement. I hadn't considered it, but I like the idea of having the bed as far away from the door as possible.

Having just finished building an inn in my module, I know that it's not an easy task at all, and this tavern is very well designed in terms of both appearance and functionality. It's generic enough to actually be used by people in their modules (let's not forget that it's the main idea behind prefab areas), and at the same time interesting enough due to its layout and attention to details (having said that, I guess I'll still stick to my version in my module, since by design it has to have some relatively unusual features).
Some minor comments:
- the 4 fireplaces part is perhaps too unorthodox. I understand that it's supposed to be the highlight of the area, but 4 different hatches with presumably 4 internal chambers look a bit too awkward. Maybe some other prominent feature can be placed in the center, like a performer, or a cook making a special meal, or an exotic dancer :);
- I like it that there are barracks-type rooms for 6 persons, middle-class rooms for 2, and a posh "suite". I didn't like that one of the middle class rooms had no window at all, that makes it bit too uncomfortable. Also, in the suite I would exchange the fireplace and the bed, as it's generally better to sleep as far from the entrance as possible, while at the same time it's more convenient to have a fireplace close to it;
- there's a misplaced opened door on the upper floor.
