Something about this excellent town reminds me a bit of Stephen King's Dark Tower novels, with the "Wierd Wild West" theme (which is some high praise, since I am a fan of The Dark Tower series). Such a setting is very conductive to a Dark Fantasy tale as well, so I can see this prefab being useful for a lot of different types of stories. Very atmospheric, indeed! :)
