This is my 5th Ready to Submit area for the module that I am building. The walkable area is 32x24, and is much larger than my previous area's. This area features a ton of plants, mostly in the form of trees. A road runs across the southern portion of the area and leads to a bridge above a river canyon. Other features for this area include: A waterfall, done to the best of my current ability, scattered ruins, 2 different "camp" type area's, including one at the bridge. A fortified area at the mouth of a canyon at the northern edge of the area, a cave, some lighting and sound, and alot of placeables, some of which may only make sense to my particular mod. I have spent alot of time working on this area, but I realize that it is not perfect. There is alot of room for personalization. No interiors are included.
This is the last of the BIG area's that I will be building for my module. I have tried to make each bigger and better than the last and I am excited about finally being able to really begin in earnest with making my mod. Any comments (including votes) are welcome, as I really want to make my offering's as good as I can.
** A Note of Self Critisizm ** I fully realize that the road in this area is VERY straight, probably TOO straight in some eyes. I may change this before I release the actual mod that this area will be in, but in building the area, I didn't really see a problem with it. The grass and weeds I use are also a bit sparse compared to some, I don't do this for performance reasons, I simply like the look personally.
Thank You for your comments Peabody! The bridges have really been a challenge for me. I like the grand canyon feel, but you are right, it messes with the bridges walk path. Your suggestions make sense for fixing that problem, and even now I am reworking the area just a bit! This is just the kind of constructive feedback I have been looking for! Thanks again. Naz.
There's no problem with roads being straight. Men tend to build them that way. But the architecture of the bridge demands ground support in the middle where there is none. I would suggest the following changes:
1. Make the waterways shallower. They don't have to all be Grand Canyons
2. Re-scale the bridge height to extend the central bridge support into the bed of the river.
3. Raise the riverbed beneath the central bridge support to meet the support and then re-texture that raised portion to be stone or rock. _________________________ You're the kid of some big almighty Kahuna out there.
