Deep within the wilderness the people of this village have carved a life for themselves. They generally mind their own business and like visitors to oo the same.
This is my first nwn2 area prefab and it will probably be on the "heavy" side, just like my nwn1 prefabs.
Since I could not test the area I did not bother about sound too much. When nwn2 goes gold I will tweak and update the area.
There was a problem with the walkmesh (I was so eager to upload this area when I finally finished it that I forgot all about it) so I updated the file.

Nice village. Good texturing and use of placeables and trees.
I don't particularly care for that amount of grass though. Not from a (computer) performance stand point, but from that you cannot really see the ground & the grass texturing.
Overall, I really like this area a lot. Great work. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio

Excellent work. Thank you for offering to the community.
Please remember this area was build with the pre-sale toolset before nwn2 actualy was available. At that time i had no way of actually testing the area. Unfortunatly I have abandoned nwn2 completly and will not update the area now that I can test it.
Just tested the map - its difficult to make a judgement about using so many grasses.
1st point : of course so much grass looks good . Depending on your graphicsettings this will drain your fps down.
The heaviest thing to turn on is transparence-AA. This will smooth every grass and the result will be low frame rates. Althoug (on my system) turning on far distance shadows will make the fps unplayable slow especialy at sunrise/sets (atglon 3700+ X1800XT 512 MB; i got about 5 fps at sunset in character modus).
In my opinion a designer should try to get the very best he is able to do expect flooding areas with such kind of things. Always have users in mind with mainstream systems or lower systems. Do not force them to lower the graphic settings theyre used to for playing a map.
Anyway - you mentioned it: youre trying to make it that way it looks best to you ignoring the fps.
Ah - by the way :
The bridgewalkmesh is missing. I walked over and ran down into the river.

This is just breathless. Sometimes I feel ashamed using an other's content for your own PW, but I feel obliged using this area because you have actually reached perfection. Just two minor flaws, your second bridge's walkmesh isn't set up properly so that the player simply walks underneath it and then pops up again at the end. The second flaw is that you have set up the walkmesh helper a little bit too low so that your feat step a but under the actual surface. Would you have completed your own it is better to raise it a tiny bit above the surface, about 0.5.
Well this is at least what I will do. I have followed your works in NWN1 closely, and they always exceeded every other area that has been created. But thank to NWN2, your skills have received the actual chance of developing or rather proving that you had more and even stronger skills inside yourself. And because of NWN2, your skills are even stronger represented. Never thought about using the grass as an actual texture, well at least covering nearly the whole surface. An other thing which I personally think is the foremost reason why this deserves a ten is the perfect set up, or creation of your mountains and rocks. Something which I think is the most difficult thing to represent attractively, you succeeded at with perfection. Thank you so much, if you would decide to stick to NWN2, please drop a line (which I will surely do when the module is being launched), in which your area will be used as one of the most beautiful towns ever created. Keep up whatever you are doing right now, but the most important thing is the praise of the user. Thank you.
Yours sincerely,
OMH

Well It was only a first attempt with the toolset andnever meant to be released in the first place. Unfortunatly it probably will be the only area I will vuilt for nwn2. Since patch1.02 the game crashes at start up and the 1.03 beta does not change that. I fear i will have to abandon nwn2 before I had a change to get into it.

Youre putting all the other builders to shame. Must admit I was expecting something more original from the creator of Jungle Village in NWN1. Still a fine effort that could slip right into the OC.

What can I say...wow!
Unfortunately I take a big hit to performance when using it. But still as a piece of work...stunning...just stunning...

I don't like the color of the water... but otherwise this area is a work of art. Quite stunning.

A really excellent area. It show how to get a lot out of the new toolset. The area isn't really all that big, but it feels huge. Excellent work!

---10 of 10... just pretty darn fantastic
---never thought of use only the grass (instead of have grass to support a grass texture) to make the... grass. looks darn realistc
hope it runs smooth with so much grass and that enviromental objects (static placeables) don't get blindet out like in nwn1 when you aren't close enough.
----------------------------------
the placebels run on realy low data like they did in nwn1
but the trees and grass is different they even run on less power then lets say a house.
btw I have fix some things and sent it to red hope he will update soon =]
