Seahorse Cove is a proposed collection of building prefabs to add depth and detail to a city setting. I began this project for three reasons:
1) I (as a player) want to be rewarded with interesting things when I explore.
2) As a builder, I wanted to have a fun way to take gold from players.
3) As a DM, I wanted to create a setting which would serve as a jumping off point for many different adventures.
The "Cathedral" is the first prefab for Seahorse Cove. Features include:
**A priest who gives a doctrinal message when the altar is approached,
**A relic store,
**A holy shrine,
**A library containing books which give a one-time experience point bonus,
**A prayer nook where a PC can make a small offering, then pray for a blessing, healing, or guidance. Results are based on class and alignment. "Insight" is not implemented; a builder could use this conversation node to give a player a hint as to what to do next in the module.
The zip file contains a module, an ERF file, and a ReadMe which contains a description of the prefab's features and suggestions on how to incorporate the structure into a module or campaign. The module file has both an interior and exterior map, though the exterior map is not well developed (just enough to give a builder an idea of what I was invisioning as the exterior of the building).
When you approach the altar, you can hear the local priest giving a doctrinal message to the faithful. There would be people listening if only I could get NPCs to sit.
You can buy relics at the cathedral store to help maintain the building and grounds.
Praying in the prayer nook gives your character the opportunity to heal, be blessed, or receive divine insight.
Thanks Jaz. In designing my game world, I created actual religions, complete with distinctive iconography, beliefs, and practices. The cathedral is a Chalice Hall, which is the meeting house of the monothestic religion of most humans. I think it seems like a real temple because it's set up with the practice and belief of a developed imaginary religion built in.
Thank you charlievale! I do plan to make a separate page for each area. I hope folks who use this content will start using it before I can finish the whole city... and will be able to mix and match parts as they have need.
On the doubled doorway: I was trying to give the feel of a multi-level structure without actually creating a second level. You have several steps up to the doorway and then can transition to the library. The library room has a regular doorway, while the cathedral has a door as a placeable.

7.5 - Very Good ++
A nice little internal area (atm a single internal area). This cathedral could probably slot into any mod easily. There are are a few interact-ables for flavor, witch is nice to see.
This is a solid piece of work, with a few interactables for flavor: spruking preacher; store with custom items; prayer alter; bookcase (gives minor xp). Nothing particularly innovative or unique about it, but very good for anyone wanting a ready-to-go cathedral / church internal. _________________________ Charlie's Pages | Fournoi Forum | Charlie's UI | Charlie's Item Modifier | Charlie's Item Appearance Changer
