Here is a simple system for Moongate travel for use in Ultima themed projects as well as anything else, because they are just that nifty. This system has been themed for Ultima with town names as destinations, but could easily be changed to use however you see fit.
This is a fully functional system for using blue moongates in a world. It extends the system created by Driller (Thank you very much for all your help!!) and includes additional scripts, a conversation, and all the items and placeables youll need to set up a system in no time! Cut and paste, drag and drop.
The current version uses 8 moonstones of various colors to spawn a blue moongate that can take the player to 8 different locations. Locations are dependant on which of the 8 moonstones they currently have in their inventory.
This system assumes that you are using JasonNHs moongate VFX package, but you can use whatever effect you want for the moongate.
Future Plans: The current system only uses the blue moongates, as in Ultima lore red, black and silver gates could only be opened with special items or special people. I intend to create an addition to this system with an Orb of the Moons object which will allow players to open red, white and possibly black gates.
Version 1.1 - This is the .erf file for easy importing into current module projects. This will add a new area called "Moongates" to your module along with all scripts, items, placeables and waypoints.
With the advent of the world map feature, are there any plans to make a version of this scaled to the world map size?

Nice to see someone made this system for NWN2. I might make something with these after I'm finished with my current maps. Too bad I didn't check for new prefabs before starting on the magic circle pack would have used these:) Have been an Ultima fan since Ultima I atleast untill VI things went downhill after that(off a cliff more like it...).
@Leon PRO - could you please explain in further detail your comments/vote please? Also did you download this submission as a result of the spotlight it received on the Vault front page?
Please either post here or mail me at [email protected], I would appreciate it.
Raith, not odd man, we all have our preferences. I remember many a fun night in UO. Of course I have more fun in my smith making armor and mining...how odd does that make me? Speaking of odd, U8 Pagan was one of my favorite Ultimas. Talk about odd man out. Anyway, thanks for the vote and support!

It wasn't my only Ultima Experience, just my favorite (I know that makes me odd man out). The early days mind you.
I'll give this 8.5 because its a solid system that fits its niche market quite well. I can even see applications for it outside Britannia if modified properly.
I'll bump that up to a 9 because, in case you haven't heard, Lord British is going to space (son of an astronaut no less). _________________________ Raith Veldrin

This has more to do with core Ultima games and remakes then it does with UO. I'm sure someone will use these prefabs for UO remakes as well, but I'm just supplying the prefabs.

Now if I can just build my Magic Reistance by casting firewall while in the safe buffer of a moongate, I could....whoops, slipped back into UO mode again. Next thing I'll be ticking off the wizards of Wind just to get them hurling spells and building my Resistance that much more.
I always loved the Mark Rune and Gate functions of the Ultima spellcasting system. Very handy in large spanning social based worlds. _________________________ Raith Veldrin
