Chaos Placeables v1.6 for Nwn2
A well-worn road leads down through a desolate landscape, amidst the slopes and crags of mighty mountains. The old road ends at the very base of a great fortress that towers over all of it's surrounding lands, a work of ancient artisans who toiled in a distant age.
Steps lead up the cliffside, towards the keep that lies behind the fortress walls. Once... this place was the home of a powerful water baron, upon whom the local peasantry depended in times of drought. But, according to legend, he had taxed the thirsty peasants so greatly that one year they rose up in rebellion. The baron has not been seen since and the ruins of what was once a thriving community are now only a mute testament to whatever dire powers were unleashed in that long-ago struggle.
Only one farm remains where once there were many... but someone, or perhaps something, still seems to be residing in the water baron's ancient fortress, where lights are always seen at night.
This is a grand place for adventurers to explore and evil creatures to haunt!

Very impressive. I'd love to see these in a module some day so I can run around in them! :) _________________________ Michele O'Sullivan

So, the short answer is: yes those are indeed waterfalls outside the window.
Sorry to ramble on a bit before, but I thought folks might be interested in the inspiration and logic of the idea as it fits into the theme of the area.
Thanks for the compliment! The concept behind the waterfalls was the thought that the Water Baron was obsessed with using water in unusual ways. And, one way that came to mind was: what if he had hidden pipes within the walls and ceiling... to pump out water from some hidden source beneath the keep... and then into the moat that is surrounding the castle itself, for the purpose of maintaining the moat and creating this view of waterfalls whenever you look outside the windows of the main hall itself? As to why the moat would need fresh water pumped into it, I further envisioned the idea that... somewhere below the water's surface it drains to an underground resevoir, which is the place from which the baron purifies the water that he gives to his people.
Excess water would be pumped out to the nearby river, which I pictured as taking the water out to sea through a second underground route. So, not only is the idea of the waterfalls lovely to look at, it is a logical following of the water from it's hidden source to it's final destination in the sea.
The inspiration for the hidden piping idea came from watching a documentary on the History Channel about the uses to which ancient civilizations had put water to, some of which were ingenious while others were downright bizarre. ;)
