This is part of my first attempt at modding and is an abandoned graveyard in a swamp.
It is a nice start. I'm not so good myself at area design either. But I think you need some more practice. You seem to have talent but you need to experiment a bit more with textures, water and grass to get a better look. :)
So.. i've just downloaded it and tryed it in game, but it was a bit to much laggy for this little area.. So.. i will try to tell ya some things, that MUST be improved:
1. the performance: nearly 40 effect placeables of the area fog.. this is not nesesarry and eats a lot of fps (frames per secound).
2. the water: The water is very horrible done, because ..yeah.. the edges are not very attractive ;)
You should know, that a modder normally make a ditch and draw the "high-reduced" water over it, so the edges are hide in the earth.
3. the textures: You don't used any other textures instead of the standart texture. Try to use other textures, here is for expample the swap-texture recommed (but this means not, that you should use just another texture - use a lot (up to the maximum of 6).
4. the negotiability: in the middle are 2 full quares, which are not walkable.. you see that when you first bake your area and then look at the negotiability (Click at "Surface Mesh" and Baked" for showing this)
5. the "visual range": in the distance, you also should place any thing, because it looks not good, if i see the walkable area with a lot of wonderfull things, but behind this border is boring nothing.
6. trees and grass: the trees are ok but the grass looks a little ...um.. senseless placed. I would recommend to you to...um.. maybe place more different grass-types and make more "groups" of grass.
I will not vote your area, but if have to I would vote something in the range of 1 to 3.
Pls dont give up and try to map more, before submitting something like this again :)
