This is a 32x32 highland area featuring a variety of different landscapes and points of interest. I started the area this month after hearing about the contest, and it is my first major NWN2 exterior apart from a few small areas created for my 'Fate Of A City' module.
The area was created entirely by hand and without the use of any plugins like YATT (or any plugins for that matter!). No hak paks are required in order to use this area.
The area contains a variety of different possible entrances/exits and a substantial amount of walkable area (I'd estimate 50%-65%). Even for a 32x32 area, it should not be too resource intensive on a system; the area that is roughest on my system is the forest grove. If people do have problems, I'd be interested in hearing system specs and locations/conditions that cause problems for future reference.

Highlands
---------
The highlands lie atop a plateau that is only reachable after several days of climbing up steep terrain. However, the highlands are known equally for their beauty as they are for danger and adventure. Coming from the South, there is a bleak wasteland of rock and scree, broken by a few trees that are have found places sheltered from the elements and harsh wind. Climbing the ridge to the plateau in the centre of a highlands gives a vista of a grassland marked with rocky outcroppings. The West is dominated by a mountain peak with a failing mine, which overlooks the potential dangers lurking in a set of ruins in the valley. Heading to the East, a dirt track descends into a gully, which passes through to a lush forested area. Here a mountain stream cascades into a cool lake surrounding a sacred grove. To the north lies an eerie moor, which during the day seems benign, but at night takes upon a more sinister aura. A hillside encampment is established at the North of the Highlands, overlooking the treacherous path down the chasm, but travelers can never be sure whether the encampment will be a source of refuge or danger...

I would love any feedback on what you liked/disliked and any suggestions for possible improvement to help further refine my skills. I'd be more than happy for someone to use this in a PW or a module, and if you choose to, I'd like to hear about it! This map is fantastic! The level of detail is great especially considering its huge size. Very nice texture work. The area layout/design is great; I really like the different types of environs mixed into it. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio

although this area had some nice elements to it. I felt confused. Such different environments all backed into each other.
The waste land looking area was pretty nifty, as it changed, it just seemed kind of uneventful.
Then off to the 3rd environment which I assume was a swamp area? It had characteristics of a swamp with out the total swamp feel. That boggy lush over growth. You water fall was really nice. And the flow to the main river was great as well.
Good luck!
