This is my first submission to nwvault for the Area Contest and my first area to reach a semi- complete status. There is still more I would like to do in order to add character, and fine tune the placed effects so later for that.
There is a cave door behind the waterfall, there is a skull above that waterfall through which the creek is fed water, and there are fireflies you can observe better during the night cycle(I wish I knew where to find the setting for increasing the density and area which the firefly effect covers, if there is one).
Apart from that most of the other features will simply stand out as you walk through.
I have had a modified version of it ready to submit for a while now. Only problem is I rather not submit a second copy of it, and just update this one or do you think I should just upload the new version for the community to judge. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

Yes. I liked everything aside from what I mentioned. Also. The things I mentioned are not even a dislike. They just could use some tweaking :) _________________________ Michele O'Sullivan

Forgot to mention one thing, I shall let the trees fade and see how that works out so you can navigate the forest better. Thing is I was trying to keep performance up, when using so much grass and trees. So I stripped out things like shadows on the trees, although I might be able to get that effect whilst minimizing using tree shadows.
Which would be to simply use light beams under the canopy, darken the ground under the forest a bit and only set shadows for trees along the edges or slightly separated from others. It might work, but just need to test it out. I hope there is a good forest debris texture. ;)
Did you like the fireflies, falling leaves, and several sound effects? _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.
Lol the river had correct directional flow until I had to adjust water levels in the last 20 minutes before submission unfortunately.
As for the waterfalls, I agree with you. Another fix to go on my list.
I will see how best to adjust the grass and the river colour.
The river could do with some natural features like you suggested, like some shallows to contrast with the deeper sections. _________________________ Time is vital so manage it well.

Much like a painting. this is very picturesque. It is a beautiful setting.
My notes. Colors are bit to bright "the grass" Seems an unnatural green.
The river way to blue and without a directional flow. Considering it is coming from one huge forceful waterfall, the steady animation seems unreal. The river could use some toning down and maybe see some river bed characteristics.
The tree areas. I had a hard time seeing how it looked from with inside the heavily packed trees. Perhaps some fade as you approach so you can see your way more clear?
All in all. I found it to be very tranquil and beautiful. Minor tweaking of colors, river flow, and slow the waterfall down a bit. :) Oh yes. I enjoyed running into the tree areas, but could not really see the design once in them.
Best of Luck!
