This is a small walled village in a forest with a stream running through town and a river for boat travel.
I built this area as a starter town for a mod that i'm making. I was going to enter it into the area contest but I missed the deadline!
I still have all the links and signs to transition to my interiors.
These can easily be changed in the toolset to add your own.
This is my first submission so I hope you enjoy the area!
I made updates to this area in my elysium wood campaign!

A grand piece of work, I must say. This little town even has a 'feel' to it - the sleepy little village, a restful way-station. Well, it feels like that for me, at any rate.
I've been using it for a while now, and I kept forgetting to vote. Let me rectify this now.

A very, very good town. Nice use of textures and color. The area layout and use of placeables is decent.
Nice work. Thanks for contributing. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio

Can't find a thing about this that I don't like. I really tried hard to find something about it to give you constructive criticism. Hope you won't mind if I use it in one of my modules and change the name of the town. I will make sure I give credit to you.

Zarc - the map is beautiful - Love to keep wandering through. Love the water sounds - just gorgeous.
I'm sorry SGK73, but I'm not a mapper, i'm a player. What is important to me is what i see/feel in a game and i see beauty (maybe it's a girl thing). Sometimes it's good to hear what the end user might say along constructive criticism! We players also have a valid point without going into the mechanics of the map!
Thanks for the critique SGK73! As for the trees i left them so you could walk through on purpose so the player wouldn't be restricted or they could make thier own walkable areas when they used the area for thier own mod. I had alot of trouble getting the boathouse to bake well but I forgot about the walk/non-walk walkmesh thingy! I'll have to fix that and update the map when I fix the floaty placeables.

Yes this is really a solid good work with a pretty nice look to feel home.

First let me say that this is one of the best looking villages on the vault. The layout is good and so is the choice of placeables. The textureing is also good if abit static, could use some more noise, that is dirt. Also some worn paths like between the boathouse and the tent with the crates and stuff to show that people has been moving heavy objects there.
The walkmesh could use attention, trees do not generate cuts in the walkmesh so you have to cut those out yourself with a walkmesh cutter trigger or use the walkmesh tool to flag those terrain polys as nonwalkable. Also the boathouse which is a great model unfortunately lack any kind of walk/collision mesh so you have to build atleast the walkmesh from the helper objects. Have a look at my second dark village area to get a few hints on this, took a while to get it to bake right.
There are also alot of floating/flying placeables I know it's a pain to get every placeable to sit firmly on the ground. A tip is to enable shadows in the toolset to help you with the placement.
I hope you take this as constructive critisism, comments like "WOW!" or "Cool!" does not help on improving your skills.:)

I say it gets an 11! That's one louder, isn't it...seriously the mad mapper's attention to detail is unsurpassed! This map is a thing of beauty.
