This pack contains 5 8x8 mini areas that can be used for quests, random encounters, and so on.
The following are the themes of each area:
- A Bridge
- Forest
- Graveyard
- A Hill
- Ruins
Each of the areas is available to download separately, or you can download all 5 in the same file. All files are .erf and they are compressed in .zip folders.
This is my first submission to the vault and if people like these, I'll try to make more.
Thank you for the suggestions. I've been practicing those techniques; hopefully I'll get better at mapping. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio

While you've had some good ideas with these areas, I feel like they all could do with more attention to detail. A lot of the areas feature a large amount of fairly flat terrain, which detracts from their overall appeal. The graveyard area is probably the best in this regard, as the walkable area features quite a lot of terrain variance. While the ruins also feature terrain variance, you've made the cliffs a little too steep and thus the cliff textures appear a little stretched.
I'd also like to see a greater use of texturing and texture blending. Large areas of 100% opacity textures are undesirable, as it can make an area look monotonous. Even small variations in texturing can help immensely. In addition, I'm not sure if you've used the colour tool. This is a must-use tool - although I would strongly recommend getting your texturing finished before you start using it.
Finally, would use grass less on the exteriors of maps, it's not particularly visible, and the edges would benefit far more from having more height and texture variances.
Overall, they are solid starts, but just need more polish and attention to detail to bring them up a few notches. _________________________ AmstradHero Fate of a City Module Development Blog Fate of a City Blog

Nice base areas. These will all see use in my Greyhawk Adventures series of modules for NWN2 (with minor adjustments, as always...). Thanks!
The file containing all 5 areas has been uploaded now. Sorry for the delay. _________________________ Ugly_Ducks Portfolio
