A third and smaller area to go with the other two mountainpass prefabs I did. It's very gloomy, as you can see from the screenshots. It actually looks great with happier light settings though, so don't be afraid to change that up for a different look.
The treescape in the background on the north end of the map is not something that I was pleased with. I basically just got tired of working on the same theme for this long and thought it looked good enough to release as is. You might wanna flesh it out with some really tiny rocks though.
This area requires the RWS towers. I haven't decided what to make next, so if anyone has any suggestions as to what type areas are needed then suggest away.

I'm using this area (minus the tower) in the campaign I'm working on. In fact I've combined it with your other mountainpass work into an extensive sidequest that was inspired by the feeling of the mountainpass series areas.
Good job! _________________________ Shadow Thief: Crimmor and Path of Evil blog Link

Excellent Area. I love the texture job you did. The area shape is quite good too; the ridges and use of height are cool.
My only gripe is that you used the same tree for the bordering of the area (just outside the occlusion grid). Mix those up a bit and you've got yourself a 10.00.

I actually modeled this after a forest in the upper peninsula of Michigan that I took some photos of, and at the time I noted to myself that the heights of the trees didn't really differ drastically across the tops. It was relatively uniform. It didn't occur to me until after your comment that the forest WAS probably logged sometime in the last century or so. Good eye! And I'm glad you liked the area
Nice i like this, definitely captures a geniune mood and bleak feeling.
Only thing id alter with it is randomise the hieghts of the trees a little more, their a little to uniform in terms of height (looks more like a man made forrest plantation ie the ones you see for growing timber where all the trees are planted at one time in an area so they grow up at the same rate) maybe even randomise their other dimensions slightly, or throw in a number of much larger versions, or if able a few large dead ones.
Other than that, its a damn fine prefab.
