Having a look at this area after coming from your Mini Area Pack, I must say that I'm definitely impressed by your dedication to improving your area design techniques. You've come a long way, and I'll hopefully get a chance to chance to check out your other prefabs at a later date.
This volcano is nice work, and you've done a get job of recreating the feel, and there's a decent amount of texture blending and colouring, though it still feels like it could do with a little more variance. The terrain also feels a little too vertically stretched and jagged at points, which detracts from the overall feel, even in the chaos of a volcanic crater. I'd try and add some ledges to the steeper mountain edges to break that up.
However, I really do like the shape of the area, as it definitely provides for interesting progression through the area. I'd concur with MokahTGS that perhaps the crater could be a little less round. I have to say this looks very well done. I havent pulled it down to look at the walkmesh and frame rate but I would suggest anyone thats looking for a volcano should check it out.
I tried three times to make a volcano that looked right and couldnt do it to my satisfaction and Im glad to see someone did.
