So a short while back, Hosa added an absolutely awesome prefab area named "Forgotten Village" to the Vault. That being said, I tend to find that spooky, 'dead' regions like that have a ton more impact on the players and the story if folks are allowed to interact with them prior to being destroyed. Meet the people you'll eventually recognize as the corpses, stay in an inn that in the future you'll see as but a burnt out husk, etc. To that end, I took Hosa's area and brought it back to life. Ground texture was greened a bit, the building models switched to the unburned ones, and the trees given leafs yet retaining the same seed values. Walkmesh was also updated a bit and corpses and the like obviously removed.
As a final note, I included the original version of Forgotten Village in the ERF as well. Again, this is just a redo of an already existent prefab. Credit really goes to Hosa for the incredible area design and idea! ^_^

Great rebuild. The area definitly looks more alive then the original razed version; they are both great.
The only problem I found was the walkmesh - for the most part, it looks pretty similar to the original & could use a cleaning up. Converting the placeables to envronmental objects then using walkmesh cutters to cut them out would also be a good addition.
